Been done.. does nobody read replies? lol
http://trolleychecker.com/index.php
Although it does trawl at midnight and sometimes it has been wrong so i believe it should be used with spreadsheet to confirm the deals it finds and it also misses some deals i.e. it only compares branded comparisons not like tesco finest vs asda premium etc.
The spreadsheet here is a lot better and more likely to be up to date...the above link for example states walls ice cream old prices0 -
Wow that is quite surprising. So if Tesco or Asda make a change to their design/code it would cause problems for mysupermarket.
goodness knows how they do it but i was impressed, my original question to them was why Morrisons wasn't on there too, the reason being that morrisons do not have an online shopping website, although i think they have just bought a company that is going to fit the bill0 -
I'm certain that I have seen the SS editors thank us for updates. I'm also grateful to everyone who posts or submits deals for the SS. The SS editors, however, deserve copious thanks not only for the time they put in on the SS, but also for taking the time to offer advice and often be the voice of reason on the thread itself.
sorry i didnt mean the editors dont appreciate it, i mean some of the people on here think the editors are the be all and end all, and anyone with any opinion other than being up the editors !!!! are not worthy of being on here and dont deserve an opinion etc. i do appreciate it, im just saying, this is a bigger team effort than just this handful of editors who apparently spend (or used to spend) over 5 hours per day on editing, just to save the rest of us having to have a quick look through posts and maybe spend an extra hour of our time making lists and checking. sorry but over 5 hours of a mothers time, and honestly i have to admit the spreadsheet saves me an hour at the very most.. i think that is a major sacrifice i am very shocked, starting to go from greatful to guilty!0 -
speak up a bit.
Sorry i figured if i posted normally it might just get missed.
I want to track down the guy who does it cause he is pretty !!!! hot in programming websites because that thing was knocked together before in the very early days although it dissapeared from PTS a wh ile later, maybe cause sometimes its inaccurate.0 -
i for one am very very grateful for the work that the ss editors do
i have now got the hang of doin dtd but i would have been lost when first doing it without them :T:T0 -
I really appreciate all the hard work that goes into this thread. You are all great whether it be ss updaters, ss editors, people posting deals etc.
A massive thanks to you all :TCherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.0 -
I don't know exactly how the data gets transferred but mysupermarket quite often seems to lag significantly behind. It didn't update the asda price changes until lunchtime-ish today. I use it to look for deals but I always double check anything interesting as I've been caught out before.
I think MySuper have been having some issues, they have been upgrading their website. My experience is that they are ahead of the shops in terms of prices because of the lag in the shops in reticketing0 -
I wasnt sure it was meant for MSE sorry... it wasnt my website you see. As they stopped using it figured you guys could give it a shot.
If it was mine i'd have released it to whoever i felt like.
Another thing sometimes its 'out; like this morning it had yesterdays deals on it but they werent correct.
Still dont look a gift horse in the mouth eh? I believe the spreadsheet machine is better than the website due to confirmation ability and finding other deals...
why aren't they using it anymore on PTS out of interest?
are they using the MSE spreadsheet instead?:DGRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED
Please press the thanks button when someone has helped!0 -
Look guys i didnt want to get flamed over it. I know the speadsheet is better... please stop flaming me for it.
Im not replacing you guys or suggestiing it just giving you more knowledge... as i said its not 100% accurate but i know it trawls the website prices every night... surely to find new deals to try its useful?
I still think spreadsheet should be maintained for the confirmation aspect as that saved my !!! numerous times.0 -
so...........
