What we need is a Computer Science Student (they've got loads of time !!!!! drinking most nights
) to write a web based app. that can "read" the Tesco & ADSA website, match products and display a list of good DTDs which can be presented so that MSE DTDers can vote (by date) on their effectiveness / currency ? The app would run in the early hours every morning, hopefully after all the price changes. Come on you students. Maybe you can ask for donations to the app. via PayPal or something to pay for your beer ?
Erh did you not read my post?
This website does it alresdy....
My god i give you guys the golden egg and you all miss it lol.
THIS WEBSITE DOES 90% of the work.. finding deals.. it just lacks the 'confirmation aspect' of the spreadsheet.

I'm certain that I have seen the SS editors thank us for updates. I'm also grateful to everyone who posts or submits deals for the SS. The SS editors, however, deserve copious thanks not only for the time they put in on the SS, but also for taking the time to offer advice and often be the voice of reason on the thread itself.0 -

Y'know that thought had crossed my mind (DS1 could probably manage to cobble something with help from his uni buddies), but it's exam time and hopefully he is concentrating on them rather than this sort of extra curricular stuff. Nice thought though.
It's only a game

This would be quite difficult and sloppy as Tesco/ASDA don't provide APIs to their prices online, unless mysupermarket do. I might have a go if the promo is still running in June!0 -

Although it does trawl at midnight and sometimes it has been wrong so i believe it should be used with spreadsheet to confirm the deals it finds and it also misses some deals i.e. it only compares branded comparisons not like tesco finest vs asda premium etc.0 -
And... seen as Paid to shop have stopped referencing the website that does all the work for you guys .... Yes theres a website that does most of the donkey work for you (90% of the time anyways).
It was inaccurate this morning so i believe its use along with spreadsheet will help save itime..
My gift to you all, i don't know who built it or who actually uses it but it does work.

It trawls moneysupermarket.com every night at midnight and updates the compairsons with the best deals...
thanks, loving it but why have you kept it quiet for so long when you knew how much our SS editors are struggling and that our spreadsheet is available freely to all,
alos it doesn't say which items have been comfirmed and how long ago, for example bluberry muller corners have been reported as N/A
no disrespect but paid to shop is a bit of a clique and don't allow free access to allGRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED
Please press the thanks button when someone has helped!0 -
Haha, I'm a CS student but unfortunately I do have revision to be doing.

I've spoken to MySupermarket and they, believe it or not, screen scrape T & A websites !! I incorrectly assumed that T, A & S gave them price files.0
