I am sure that tescos will honour our vouchers which we are due today, but I have a feeling that on the email that will come with them, will be something like , 8 different items have to be purchased that will be compared to asdas prices , like asda does. The minimum number of items at asda is 8.
  • Who has had vouchers today? Anyone?

I give up. I really do.

I don't know how much more clearly I can put this. There are a handful of editors. Literally. Many of the people who were originally editing don't do it any more for various reasons. Often there will only be a couple of us available at the point where all the updates come through.

If we don't keep up with the updates, people get upset because it isn't up to date. When everything is together, people said it was hard to find the good deals and said they didn't want to save 10p on some milk. The shopping basket facility took maintenance and was frequently not right so we would have to go back and fix it.

Changing the method has probably taken about 5 or 6 hours a day off the time I spend on the spreadsheet. I suspect most of the editors would say similar.

So, frankly, I don't give a monkeys if you are disappointed. I value seeing more of my baby girls' smiles, or my extra time to study, more than I value your disappointment at having to put a little extra effort into looking at a pre-prepared list of deals. If you don't like it, don't use it.

Sorry for ranting everyone else but......

What about peoples time that they donate to updating the spreadsheet updaters? or doesn't that count?

Remember, as you keep reminding us all, you volunteered for the job, if you don't like it, don't do it!

Why don't you ask for some help, I would be happy (and i'm sure others would too) to give up some time to assist with the task and reduce the workload, but you seem more intent on keeping it close to your chest and martyring yourself for the cause, than accepting any assistance and improving what you pump out to the masses.

It is people like ME that regularly send in spreadsheet changes, that allows people like YOU to actually benefit from the spreadsheet. I spend plenty of MY time helping other people with confirmed, new, or deleted deals and as such, am equally entitled to MY opinion on what the spreadsheet looks like.

    What's with the capitals anyway?

Wouldnt want to live with you.

    your so argumentative.

I think tesco's are quite happpy with the promotion , And the only thing they would like to change is the part where u do a shop with a 20 pound voucher that you can then go and enter that reciept into the price check and get another voucher.

thats why they have witheld the vouchers today ..just a theory

I reckon they are updating the way the vouchers are issued - conspiracy theories and all that. It would be better if they had barcode specific to the receipt to weed out fraudulent transactions instead of generic barcodes for vouchers under or over £10.

Just incase it doesn't come back on DTD before you need to buy it, I just saw a 2.4kg bucket of it in poundstretchers for £8.99 and home bargains for £7.99.
On a side note I also noticed 16 andrex toilet rolls for £6.49 in poundstretchers.

    HTH

I didnt even realise that poundstretches sold it, thanks.
  • just to waste a post wanted to see whether a star is given for 700 posts or not. Totally nothing to do with tesco by the by

I am one of those 'greedy so and sos' who want to spend 20 pound pay 20 pound get 20 pound back types.

As i am trying to milk this promo for everything its worth. Sorry if that shocks or hurts you but when the promo ends you will have saved X amount and I will have saved Y amount...

At the moment my plan is to save 5 years worth of things up like toiletries etc. Currently trying to get washing powder type prodiucts which persil small and mighty helps. Worked out i will need 1500 washed to do 5 years worth. So need i believe 30 bottles of small and mighty to meet that quota.

I can traw the spreadsheet like annyone else but i added my opinion earlier in contradiction to yours that as a spreadsheet updater like yourself I wanted to have deals put in descending order of Percentage value.. as it made it simple to read down 100 lines instead of 1000 lines.

Its all a matter of use and back then I was told they couldn't pander to my needs and I kicked off but accepted their decision and found another way to do it myself. You need to do the same now... they cant meet everyones expectations as they are starting to understand constanlty undating spreadsheet is a massive pull on their time. Hell just reading this thread and spreadsheet takes prob 30-60 mins of my time every day!
