I think tesco's are quite happpy with the promotion , And the only thing they would like to change is the part where u do a shop with a 20 pound voucher that you can then go and enter that reciept into the price check and get another voucher.

thats why they have witheld the vouchers today ..just a theory
  • This is a strange day for the vouchers and i think mr t is up to something, my cup is always half full.lets hope the mat is not being pulled from under our feet.

Just in case you're not aware, Vanish Oxi is now up to £10.80 at Mr A - so not a great dtd.

Yes what a pain it is lol I really should have picked up some yesterday grrrrrrrrrrrr lol i have enough left till end of next week, then I will have to buy myself one. This morning it would have been a deficit , as t was 6 and a 10.80 , now at least there is a small dtd on it.
  • Well I have bagged all my shopping up ready to be returned.

Let me reiterate that I appreciate the time you take.

Let me also say, that I don't do shops for the sake of it, I buy stuff I need and like it to be balanced. The best way to balance what you actually need v what is available DTD wise, is to have a mixture of items, some offering better DTD value and some worse. The greedy people out there, that insist on buying a load of crap they'll never use, because they think they're getting one over on Mr T should not be pandered to, in the fashion that appears to be happening now. The old spreadsheet format, containing all items, under headers, was far far superior to the version available now. The systematic "dumping" of what are now classed "low value" DTD items, but still very useful to many, into an unorganised mess, is more than a little disappointing.

    Just my opinion.

I give up. I really do.

I don't know how much more clearly I can put this. There are a handful of editors. Literally. Many of the people who were originally editing don't do it any more for various reasons. Often there will only be a couple of us available at the point where all the updates come through.

If we don't keep up with the updates, people get upset because it isn't up to date. When everything is together, people said it was hard to find the good deals and said they didn't want to save 10p on some milk. The shopping basket facility took maintenance and was frequently not right so we would have to go back and fix it.

Changing the method has probably taken about 5 or 6 hours a day off the time I spend on the spreadsheet. I suspect most of the editors would say similar.

So, frankly, I don't give a monkeys if you are disappointed. I value seeing more of my baby girls' smiles, or my extra time to study, more than I value your disappointment at having to put a little extra effort into looking at a pre-prepared list of deals. If you don't like it, don't use it.

Sorry for ranting everyone else but......

you obviously haven't been to mid wales!

my mum lives in a small town in gwynedd; her tesco is about 30 miles away.

it's an hour and a half for a round trip!

luckily, i take her some DTD shops home every few weeks.

    :)

we are in the same boat as your mum and half the ones in gwynedd are really small and do not have good dtd items

You always have to add something!!!

Just use the details that you are given on the SS and do something yourself rather than spending time telling people what would be better for YOU.

Hear hear, I agree, incredible, they are called the "why don't yous" and live in a world that revolves around themselves, there is usually a down trodden wife (or hubby) in the background ! :)
