  • I asked earlier about doing two shops in a row, just did it and it was fine.

I did two shops today, both with a mixture of DTD and non-DTD goods, but both should return a £20 voucher. Paid for the first one with a voucher, I picked my usual youthful cashier. He asked a supervisor what to do with it. She gave it a quick check and then told the guy to just scan it but said to me 'We need to keep your receipt'.

Second shop, I handed over another voucher and this time he just scanned it. No probs.

Went back in as I'd forgotten to pick up the Finish Quantomatic starter pack - I got one (£10.15 so should generate a voucher for £10.30) and went to a self-service till. Scanned in the £5 Finish voucher and had to call over a supervisor. She flapped about a bit and but then she put it through.

This is the first time in this store that anyone has said they need to keep the receipt, I'm happy with that - I staple each receipt to the voucher anyway. But I wonder if it's a sign that more people are using the vouchers. Up till now, I felt I was on a one-woman mission to use DTD at this store. :D

It's strange that now when I'm shopping in Tesco I feel like a criminal even though I'm not doing anything illegal. I feel like I have to hide my shopping list. :o

They've generally given my receipts back to me - some signed, others not but they just go into my "filing" so I can update my own spreadsheet at some stage... :p

AND I had an email from Tesco CS confirming that there is the known error on the numbers at the bottom and to print the email and [STRIKE]stick it up the SA's nose[/STRIKE] show it to the SA as confirmation if they dispute the voucher being valid... :D

This being after I had a voucher refused on Thursday (and it made me cry when I got home :o they were so rude to me) can't wait to trot that into store... C'mon ickle Zoe, Checkout Manager, I've a few words for you... :p

I am a few pages behind so perhaps there has been further discussion. I am not in favour of paying or giving to charity. I'm not sure Martin would be in favour either. Either I've missed it or DTD has not been on the newsletters and I don't think he has talked about it on tv either. We can all do our own bit without involving mse. My tesco has donations for soldiers and I have put into that a few times. I have also given things to both sets of our parents. I'm thinking about a donation to a local homeless charity. Finally I have donated money to a small charity I support in India- from my shopping savings.
Of course I certainly appreciate all the efforts of everyone here and particularly the editors. I just think that if folks still want to go ahead and donate on mse that official permission needs to be got( and of course, I may be wrong and Martin will be delighted).

IF the charity idea goes ahead it will not be on MSE directly. Nobody is talking about anything compulsory or enforced - various people have asked over the past few days about doing something to say thanks to the editors and it was thought that donating to charities that are special to us for whatever reason might be nice.
