  • Hi, would it be possible for you to copy and paste the email on here so that others that have had the same issue could copy, paste and print it lol :)

I'd ask your bank about that. There's pretty strict Data Protection rules - can't see how they'd be allowed to have a folder full of people's details lying around!
They weren't lying around he brought them from his office. The receipts were mine and he could identify my card from the last 4 digits - the rest of the numbers are shown as * he let me go since I only used 3 already. Different managers seem to have a different take on the way to stop people using the scheme - its cash only and no clubcard from now on

Just for info - I have had a voucher that was still processing from 8th April. As there has been this 24hr clock issue I changed 20:20 as showing on my receipt to 08:20 and submitted again. Hey presto - I now have my voucher. Worth a try if you have this problem. The voucher does not match to my receipt now - but I have not had any problems with this before.

I assume its just the last 4 digits of the card number which they have on all card receipts, which they retain electronically anyway so they can be reprinted :)

correct thats what he showed me

At my work if I process a card payment it has the full card number on the merchants receipt.

There's no way they could prove how much the OP had sent just by using the last 4 digits though, there must be loads of people who's cards end in the same digits? :)

it's a blatant breach of the DPA - report them for it.

How is it abuse? They have data from their tills - can you show where in the data protection act they cannot copy till receipts - I will gladly show the manager the information if you can provide it?

For those who use the Finish £2 coupon from inside the 56 tabs - these expire on 1st May, so this voucher booster is going to be slightly less worthy than it was.

And for those who question whether they ought to put through more than one transaction per visit, I say why not.

When this promotion started there was no £20 cap, and the idea of it was to recompense you if Asda was cheaper. It is hardly our fault that we worked out the products that were MUCH cheaper and made the most of it; Tesco could always have reduced those prices in an instant, but no they don't they just cheat the T&C's and limit you to £20, so no longer a true DTD.

So we make it back to what it was by putting multiples of £20 through, so I get £80 per visit, and save my petrol. And lets be fair about this, that £80 is only worth £40 in Asda, and that is after Asda's profit, so Tesco are just greedy b.......
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)

Well they did! and they were my receipts he read them out to me - as I mentioned I think that possibly not many people using so easy to pull voucher from till and the till will know which transaction it was used on - as I said I will use cash in future

Take a look at the principles of the DPA - even using the last 4 digits of your card number to search and identify you is wrong

Personal data shall be obtained only for one or more specified and lawful purposes, and shall not be further processed in any manner incompatible with that purpose or those purposes.

The purpose you provide the credit card info for is as a payment method, nothing else. Nowhere do you agree to them retaining your credit card details as a method of monitoring your shopping habits. Using it in any other way would,, I think, be a breach. I've worked in finance for years and we would get rapped for doing this kind of thing

Apologies in advance is these are silly questions or have been asked/answered before...

I've purchased an item...but now want to return it (bought the wrong item). Only problem is there were a few DTD (Pricecheck) items on the receipt, which I've now put into the website. Will returning the item now affect the comparable voucher....or should I return after I recieve the voucher (in which case wouldn't SA notice something has changed on the receipt?), or before I print out the voucher?

Also, the item in question is Mouthwash. Is it returnable?

Thank You so much in advance! :)
