How about this one? It doesn't say in the T&Cs that they will keep copies of your personal details.
Principle 2 – Information collected must be processed for limited purposes
This means that collected information must only be held and used for the reasons given to the ICO and the customer. Personal information must not be processed in any manner incompatible with the original purpose(s). If a company wishes to use certain information for purposes outside of the original need they must gain further permission from the individual..•¨¨*:•..•

I'd ask your bank about that. There's pretty strict Data Protection rules - can't see how they'd be allowed to have a folder full of people's details lying around![/QUOTE]
i always use my card so i will be looking into see if they are allowed to do this  I cant see it, imagine all the cards they have going through in their shops and they reckon they keep all the numbers0 -
Think I would be quoting this:
Data Protection Act 1998, Schedule 1, Part 1, para2:-
Personal data shall be obtained only for one or more specified and lawful purposes, and shall not be further processed in any manner incompatible with that purpose or those purposes.
Although I do wonder if it is indeed Personal Data as there isn't anything personal on it, just 4 little numbers?0 -
Apologies in advance is these are silly questions or have been asked/answered before...
I've purchased an item...but now want to return it (bought the wrong item). Only problem is there were a few DTD (Pricecheck) items on the receipt, which I've now put into the website. Will returning the item now affect the comparable voucher....or should I return after I recieve the voucher (in which case wouldn't SA notice something has changed on the receipt?), or before I print out the voucher?
Also, the item in question is Mouthwash. Is it returnable?
Thank You so much in advance!
answering last question first - yes only perishables aren't returnable.
I've returned 3 things, and on 2 occasions I said I'd bought the wrong item and would be going back in to buy the right one, and they simply gave me cash, no marking of receipt or anything.
The 3rd, she did mark the receipt as returned, but it didn't affect my DTD use at all.I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!
Quidco and Topcashback, £4,569
Shopandscan, £2,840
Tesco Double The Difference, £2,700

There's no way they could prove how much the OP had sent just by using the last 4 digits though, there must be loads of people who's cards end in the same digits?
I doubt there are loads of people in the same store0 -

I think a credit card number would count as personal data anyway, but them choosing to use it as an identifier would turn it in to personal data if it wasn't, as they are effectively saying it's unique to you.0 -

For anyone who's vouchers come back as 'processing' - which browser are you using?
I found that by using IE, using the back arrow and re-submitting it worked after 2 or 3 attempts whereas on Firefox it didn't seem to.
*Note: It doesn't work for everyone but it's worth a try.
I will try and bump this daily as it seems to have helped a few people and the query comes up regularly - and this thread moves SO FAST!
Thanks to the SS people for all your hard work!0 -
