you will not belive what we have just seen in our local tesco extra i hear a supervisor say to a staff member we have just had this from head office and we have got to go trough all these so being the nosey parker that i am i looked over her shoulder as to pick up a item and he presto what did i see the moneysaving expert spreadsheet lol there on to us and we have spys

nice one! and what do you think they are going to do with it? i am by no means calling you a liar, but are you sure it was the MSE spreadsheet as i am sure everything will look like like some form of a spreadsheet in Tesco`s.
What would they want with a SS from MSE? Do you not think that they already know what items they are paying out on more often?
Surely they will have some form of spreadsheet themselves which tells them the "usual" Big DTD`s.... Betty crockers, enigmas, proglides, racks of lamb, roasting dishes, baileys, to mention a few,
Plus, prices dont change from store to store, i would imagine if they had any intention of changing prices at all, that sort of memo would go direct to the Price Integrity department so, there would be no need at all for any other member of staff or supervisor even knowing about what things are and are not on the SS only the people whos job it is to change prices, if Mr T wanted to put a stop to us all taking advantage of his generosity then all he has to do, have a read through the SS and input new prices into the computer in the same way he does when things go up/on offer... , this could be done with a push of a button as there will be a fair few Price Integrity people in each store to change SEL`s.
It`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.
The world is full of people throwing stones at us. Its what you do with them that counts. Build a wall or build a bridge.
  • Just had half a finest pizza for tea. If this goes on any longer I'll be hoping for some Senokot on DTD.................. ;)

  • Thanks for your replies everyone. i have just emailed Tescos to see what their policy actually is and if they have changed it or have just been told a "few porkies". I think I can remember someone name and shaming the Kings Lynn manager in one of the earlier threads, with his photo. Wished I'd have gone to another store now!!!!

That wouldn't have been me would it? :D

By the way, this 'supervisor'...wouldn't happen to have been a blonde with a very lopsided dodgy haircut would it?

I agree with most of what you say. But if I was Mr Tesco and I didn't want to reduce stock, I'd send an spread sheet to each branch saying ie just sell 10 Bacardi 1 Litre today - move the rest to the back. That would involve store involvement. I won't say what else I'd do. ;)

an't believe I'm in Spain now and still logging on to see what's happening!I'm amazed - but delighted - it's still going

We went to Tenerife just after this all started and I left DS and DD explicit instructions as to what to buy. We skyped each day to make sure they were ok and had also done the shopping!
