Yup, have you ever thought that the CV may make you look fantastic, because you ARE fantastic?
I hope it reaps the rewards xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Those are really sweet comments - thank you.
Well I am feeling happy at the moment (hmm that's tempting fate!) as I have paid my first £100 off of Egg and, for the moment, I am in CREDIT!
It won't last all month but it shouldn't be too bad.
However there are a few things that have cropped up - don't they always? - for this month which I hadn't planned for.
I need to find £20 to go to see my brother in North London -I can get a return for £19 and won't need any other money.
I am hoping to sell something (it's not rude!) to a colleague on Monday for £15 so that would help.
I have a few things on EBAY which finish Sunday - one has sold already (not a lot of money though) and I am keeping fingers crossed the others sell as altogether it could get me another tenner or so - it all helps.
I am off to see a friend tomorrow and we will be popping to town as I need to get a few bits from Boots....I haven't seen her for AGES and it would be so nice to just have a coffee & cake or something whilst we're out but we're both piggin' skint and need to save cash so we'll probably just dribble in a cafe window or something.
I am not taking part in the "Make Ten Pounds A Day in September" challenge but it has inspired me and I think it was an excellent idea for a thread! There's no way I have made ten pounds a day but it did inspire me to do the car boot sale, try and sell that object to a colleague, list some things on EBAY. I need to think of some more things really because I want to be able to pay for these "extras" and not just think "Oh b*gger it" and 'accept' that the overdraft is going to go up again this month as it's just the start of the slippery spiral downwards isn't it?
(Can you see I'm really learning!?)
So if anyone has any bright ideas - post away!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Thought of something!
I had my QuidCo settings, set to £20 before it paid out but I have £11.29 there already....so I have changed settings to £11 so that will pay out for hopefully next week. There might be a few more pennies on top of what they pay out but if not, the £11 will help.
Hurrah! Good thinking LA even if I do say so myself.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

hahaha good thinking indeed.
thinking of things right under my nose, you could always invest in wireless broadband and a webcam and charge people to watch you play online in bed???
yeah your right thats a silly idea, if anyone could see me now they'd pee themselves :rotfl:
just realised HOW out of context that could be taken. folks i was in no way intimating anything rude! it was along the lines of that girl that ran the site for years where folk could watch her go about her normal everyday busniess!!!0 -
Evening LA...had to reread the above comment as it sounded really rude...LOL...and had me in stitches...
Well done on not being in the o/d and paying £100 off egg...go girl...I have my quidco set at 0 so get whatever comes in(not that its ever much)...you seem to be really getting motivated now...so guess it was a good idea to get that egg card.take care...0 -

People pay extra for that sort of thing, so it must be very DFW!!!!!
(sorry)
My quidco account is set to pay out at £0 too, so even if it is only a few pounds it comes my way - better in my account than theirs!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Morning LA...hope you have a good weekend and the right job will come along soon..I'm sure..take care0

Evening all. LJ - thanks for those words of advice
I can't imagine *anyone* wanting to watch me go about my daily business...not unless they've got a cleaning fetish or they like seeing people sort out their crazy hair or ponder over spreadsheets
So what's happened to me today.
I have sold a couple of things on EBAY - for pennies really plus postage & packaging but at least it meant I could request just over £8 from PayPal.
That should hit my account by the end of next week and it will help with the train fare along with, what I hope will be £15 - £20 from a colleague tomorrow...if so, that's the fare paid for with a bit left over. Mind you I have the EBAY parcels to pay for don't I?
See how I got in this mess?
OK well hoping for a good night's sleep tonight. The last two nights the burglar alarm has been going off about an hour after we set it/go to sleep. We check - no problems, reset the alarm and go back to sleep. Hour later it goes off again.
We *think* we might have sussed it and have taken the appropriate action and we tested it today twice with no alarms going off for an hour & half the first test then over 3 hours the second test. If it goes off in the middle of the night again tonight then I think it's either a problem with a door contact (door contracting as it gets colder and pulling away from the contact strip) or we have a night visitor of the rodent kind - or big hairy spider kind  - setting the PIR off.
So....tonight we wait and see.......keep your fingers crossed we've sorted it though.
Packaged up EBAY parcels tonight and have had a big veggie chilli & rice which was a cheap but healthy dinner.
My fiancé's parents gave us a job paper today - I have scoured it but not really found anything.I'll keep looking.
His Mum has also talked to us about some more work she can do on our front garden which would be free or very nearly free for us so that's a bonus. :money:
Have done Piggy Comps & QuidCo searches today......a few more pennies.
Managed to get a load of washing dry on the line today as well and haven't had to rely on radiators for it (I don't own a tumble dryer any more) so that's good.
Re-listed a handbag that didn't sell on EBAY but it ended with a 'watcher' so I decided to re-list it. It's a designer one and on for 99p to start with! Hope it sells second time. Doesn't EBAY drive you NUTS sometimes?
I saw my friend yesterday - we didn't go out so no need to drool in cafe windows. I did also show her the DFW forum...so..if you are reading....:hello: hi babe!
Well nowt more from me to ramble about today - not very exciting as it is really! Just felt the need to chart a bit more progress.
Hope you are all well - here's to another money saving week coming up anyhow. Piggy points tomorrow! (Got to have something to make a Monday a bit more bearable!)
Oh taxi - if you are reading....I wonder how your first day back at work went? Will go check your diary shortly....
