You didn't say it was wireless...

Have a look in your instruction manual, and see if it says anything about "anti-jamming" protection.

Cheers - we had already checked the anti jamming thing....we know it's not that.

Anyways....we had a good nights sleep last night - no alarms! So we're now putting batteries back in one by one and we'll be testing over the next five nights or so. I just hope that I don't go to bed and be all tense because I am waiting for the alarm to go off . Ah well....upwards & onwards!

    It's a very alarming saga........GROAN.

Thanks taxi! I haven't even heard back yet from the agency so I am guessing they have quite a few candidates details to go through. With reflection I am wondering if they will think I am a little 'over experienced/qualified' but I hope not. I don't care if I am - I want the job! Anyway I will update as & when I hear more news.

So anyway.....any money saving things from me today...?

Well.....I found another bargain in the second hand shop.

I really need some work trousers (or skirts) as well as winter tops. No tops again in there today but I did spy a really smart pair of chocolate coloured M & S trousers which are kind of hipster-y and the perfect length. They sit so well on my bum too...and they were only £2.69! Pristine condition too.

I was thinking on the way back to work (of course I did buy them!) about a colleague of mine who pooh poohed (a male colleague) the whole wearing second hand clothes thing, whether that be off EBAY or out of second hand shops or even something that used to belong to your best mate.

It made me feel a bit embarrassed because I do buy quite a lot of second hand clothes and I wondered what on earth he would think of me if he knew just how many of my clothes, which are all very clean & tidy, were second hand?

Then I thought "What the hell are you worried about?"

I mean if people are lucky enough not to have to worry abut clothing budgets then good for them but there are also green issues as well.

What are your thoughts on second hand clothes then? (And have I asked this before??)

I have sold a DVD on Amazon today which is great because it didn't cost me anything! So £5.59 on the way to me now.

I made a big healthy and tremendously filling dinner tonight: sweet potato and cannellini bean casserole. SO easy to make in one big saucepan.

Want the recipe? It's for 2 people.
    • Chop up one onion and one washed leek along with a de-seeded red pepper.
    • Put these in a saucepan.
    • Chop up half a pound of peeled sweet potato (I actually use two small to medium size sweet potatoes) into small pieces so it cooks easily.
    • Add the sweet potato to the pan.
    • Now pour over one tin of peeled tomatoes (chopped or whole - doesn't matter) and one tin of cannellini beans in their water.
    • Bring to the boil then reduce the heat, cover and cook gently for around 15/20 minutes until the sweet potato is tender.
    • Then add in a tablespoon of tapenade if you have it OR, if like me, you haven't, a squirt of tomato purée!
    • Stir well.
    • I also added a dash of salt but this is optional.
    • Serve hot with garlic bread if you like (I don't - I find this filling enough on it's own).
LOVELY and very healthy...full of vitamin A, iron, prebiotics, vitamin C, fibre. And cheap!

LA I have no problem with second hand clothes, whenever I lose too much weight to fit into mine (;) ) I take them to the charity shop, but at the same time (no offence hun) I dont shop there. Think I'm too much of a snob really.

At the end of the day if you feel and look good in the clothes you wear then what does it matter where they came from?

You should never worry about what people think as whatever you choose to do is your business and nobody elses...that persons comments show just how shallow they are as a person...there is nothing wrong with second hand clothes as it just shows how shallow they are and like you say there are green issues here!!!!...bet they've got loads of debt(keeping up with the Jones's)...
You're tea sounds lovely....and...healthy...hope you work out your burglar alarm problem soon...and that you hear about the job too...take care xx
