Gosh everyone feels the same at the moment and the boards are quite quiet as I think we all don't have much to say but I guess we need to come on and keep our diarys going as it's something to look back on after the hard struggle...life is a pain we never know what's around the corner...we just have to plod on I guess0

Hey there.
Well again not a lot to report, well nothing great anyway.
Looks like I will be losing my lifts to work soon, so I will be back on the buses ("I'll get you Butler....!") which is a shame (for my purse) but I have been lucky to be getting them for a good month or so and may be OK for another week.
Also I seem to have fallen back into the EBAY habit...but buying stuff this time .
However saying that, I have bought very useful stuff and nothing particularly expensive.
I got a long cardigan/jacket thing which was £5 and LOVELY and is very versatile. It replaces one I had ages ago and loved and I totally wore it out, literally! So I know this was a good buy.
I've also bought another top which I know will be worn a lot however it's not arrived yet (I paid for it last Sunday..?) and the seller has not responded to 2 very polite emails asking if she's posted it yet/when can I expect it.
How rude. Anyway I'll leave it a few more days before I get......less polite.
What else, oh yes, a pack of electric toothbrush heads for about a third of what they cost in the shops - result. They definitely will be used.
Oh, mustn't forget the electric toothbrush either! Fantastic purchase though, SO glad I bought it, it's given me a brighter whiter smile(how corny!) and my teeth don't feel as sensitive as when I was manually brushing.
OK the last purchase, which I made today, is somewhat of a girlie luxury...I bought, for £3.65 (plus p&p) a.....heated eyelash curler! I read about them ages ago saying they are good for deep set eyes to 'open up' the eye a bit then promptly forgot all about such a gadget.
Something made me think about it today so I checked on EBAY and there are squillions on there for a few quid so I thought "Oh s*d it" and bought one.
And here comes the nauseating justification: I just want to feel better about myself.
And I do.
Longer lashes might not be the answer, but...it's cheaper than therapy right now....:rotfl:
Oh yeah, will be re-mortgaging in the very near future as fixed rate runs out early June meaning July's mortgage repayment would be £100 more than usual repayment if I leave it. Can I afford that? Errrr no.
Will hopefully be moving away from Abbey (after nearly 10 years of being a very loyal customer who has never missed a payment) as they are offering spectacularly less than average deals (and want to charge me a horrible fee simply for giving them my money once again) and won't give capped mortgages to anyone but new customers either which was something I wanted to consider.
So I will be doing a telephone application with another lender tomorrow for another product.
I hope they accept us as it will give me great pleasure to move my business more locally and tell Abbey to shove it up their......
Anyway that's the end of the update. Hope you are all doing well and have a great weekend.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Phew! Loooooong update but I'm MOST jealous of your eyelash curlers! I use an ordinary pair, but it's the same as electric toothbrushes, right? ESSENTIAL!
Enjoy your curly eyelashes! What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -

Hi LA...you've had some great bargains there and I hope your top arrives soon...my mortgage rate has just ended and gone up by £30 p/m but still has another 12 months tie in...so want to clear the debt this year and change the mortgage next year to a flexible one....I wish you luck with your new one...it's so annoying when companies don't look after the customers they've already got.....have you got lovely curly eyelashes now?...it's not nauseating to want to look nice either...don't be so hard on yourself!!!....you have a right to look how you wish and you've done it the DFW..so there's nothing wrong with that...sorry to hear about the car share...could you maybe get a bike or is that a daft idea...have a good week-end0

Please update on the curly eyelash effect.
I'll be going out in a paper bag tomorrow (over my head) - need a makeover! May have to indulge... What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
Corr they were some lightening fast responses!
Taxi - no the eyelash curlers haven't arrived yet, they were only ordered today. I think it's the most 'girlie' thing I have ever bought to be honest! I look forward to trying them out.
Here are something similar if you are curious everyone!

Getting a bike....no not a daft idea. I do have one and could bike to work but only to be considered when the better weather comes.
My job is about 5 or 6 miles away from my house which is do-able but it's mainly on roads across very open flat space......and the wind and rain rush across those spaces like you wouldn't believe. I just don't fancy it at the moment.
I need to get mudguards put on my bike though as well.
It's so annoying how many places of work (like mine) don't provide places to get changed/washed up after a bike ride in too, but I am sure I can sort something out if I really try.
Minnie....yes I like to think so, essential indeed
hypno.....I have been selling recently honest! I sold a load of camera gear and some beauty products too. I would like to do some more selling but I've got b ugger all left really.
I tried to sell a skirt by Planet recently too for a bargain price but no-one wanted to know
I'll try some other stuff as soon as I turn up anything else worth listing. Promise!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

I agree! If places had shower facilities I am sure loads more people would cycle to work.
When I worked in the City, I found a gym that would let me pay a whole 20p for the use of their lockers and showers so that I could go for a run (well, a slow jog) at lunchtime. Perhaps you could find somewhere that would allow you to do the same?
I think I am missing out on the curly eyelash thing. Do they really make loads of difference?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
