    Hi LA,

Just wanted to say been keeping up, and think you're doing a fab job, good luck with the Quidco enquiries! Hope they do payout for you....

Scrub those debts clean away from your bathroom and mind too!!!!

    Take care xx

  • LOL @ ZTD!

And thanks CAFC Girl. The bathroom was gleaming. Shame about the bits of grout that need rewhitening....doesn't matter how much cif you get on an old toothbrush does it...?

Well I wasn't at work today due to a bad stomach. I hope it has gone by Christmas, I am still a little bit fragile now.

On the plus side it means I saved bus fare and also BF went out shopping for mixers tonight and he also picked up the fresh bits & pieces we need for the weekend and refused to take any money for them. He's been really good saying he won't take money from me whilst he is way more solvent than I am and I am struggling. Which is really good of him. I don't want him to think I am being a scrounger but what he says is logical.

And I would be the same if the novelty slipper was on the other foot of course.

I was supposed to be going for that manicure tonight but not only was I ill but the lady who does it was ill too so it was cancelled till the New Year. So I should be way way way below the weekly budget thing this week :j

One of my thumb cuticles has gone all dry & icky though and the other one is starting to follow so no doubt I'll be looking like something off a building site by January. I'll get half my ar*e hanging out of my jeans as well for full effect :rotfl: (Sorry to any builders reading....I shouldn't stereotype...)

I took a look at my excel spreadsheet today and can't see that my overdraft is going to go down massively during January - it doesn't help that it is a 5 week month till pay day.

I have amended my signature to the worse case scenario and will update it as January progresses and I see what money I can save, if any.

I have no plans socially between now and Jan 31st! Said no to a night out at a favourite local band's gig on 29th December which was a tough call but, I know it was the right decision.

I think I will make January a healthy, recuperating month where I stay in, eat fruit, drink lots of water, try and get back into a healty exercise routine (hmmm the Salsa may start but I won't fight that...) and also use up all those sachets of sample products I have and do lots of facials etc to make myself feel better.

That's settled then! I don't mind really - February will be when my (fun but frugal!) social life can begin again - and that's fine with me.

    HI LA
Sorry you're not feeling too well and hope you get better soon..you're stil dong really well on the budgeting side...january seems like a fun month ...all those facials...jan is the dullest month of the year so it's good to do things to cheer yourself up(even better when they're free)
  • Hooooooray no more work for 6 whole days!!! :D
    Ohhhh such a good feeling.

I'm really sorry though for anyone who does have to work over Christmas...I hope they pay you well & maybe you get some holiday in the New Year when we're all trudging, most reluctantly back to work.

Well I spent some money on myself today. I treated myself to a pint in the pub after work and a good chat with some colleagues before getting the bus home. En route to public house I had to call in at Tescos for one solitary parsnip (for dinner that BF is making at the weekend - yum my favourite meal, spicy lemon & potato casserole...) and whilst I was there I also bought myself a mascara

Well....as I said on the daily spend thread, it is Christmas!

Again going with the "the old ways weren't working" lines of thinking, totally depriving myself of any money was a serious mistake. It made me resentful and then I would 'come out fighting' and blow stupid amounts of cash on stuff because 'I deserved it' (I didn't really, I know that).

So, because I had some cash left over from the manicure that didn't happen I thought I would spend a little on a simple pleasure like a drink & a chat instead of scampering off home....and a mascara to be girlie. Tis the season to be batting eyelashes after all ;):o

Not going out tonight - having a frugal but yummy dinner of large jacket potato with cheese & beans and a gin & tonic or two (courtesy of BF) and I can't wait to just relax totally and look forward to the Christmas break.

I hope you all have as good a Christmas as you possibly can and here's to a successful debt busting 2007 where, remember EVERY PENNY COUNTS!

    Bring it on.

    Much love.

    xx LA xx

  • Thanks taxi!

Well you have a fabulous holiday to look forward to, and that's great.

I think I may go and play dress up later and put on the new mascara.
Ummmm then again maybe not, the gin is taking effect and I'll probably end up looking like a drag Queen! :o

  • I forgot to say....I think my determination is rubbing off a little bit on the BF.

He got paid today and he paid his VISA bill off in full and made a derisory comment about them not getting any interest off him now

I was very pleased (but didn't say anything....you know how it is ;) )
