  • Thanks taxi. Well I read your post (as you know) about your tax bill and stuff, so you are making decisions and thinking ahead. So don't think you're static. Clearly you are being proactive :T

Aww thanks for that...never thought of it that way ...I guess I have done stuff..all be it shifting some debt about...but I have paid some off and not added to it...so that's good I suppose
  • YES! If you are not adding to debt, that's great.

Keep being proactive about what you can whittle down even if it's just pennies at times (like me with my overdraft :D) and how you can save money and you'll be doing good work.

Your such a star and have been very helpful to me thanks!!..I have an appointment at the bank weds...looking into high interest savings accounts (for my tax)...also my isa is only 3.75%(I think may have gone to 4.75%)...going to see if I can do better as being SE need to save as well as pay debt...cos I don't even have money stashed for repairs and had to pay £111 today..so feel I do need some little pots
  • There you go - more pro activity. Give yourself a pat on the back!

Are you posting all these things on your diary too hon?

I only ask because you will want to look back over your progress at some point and see how far you've come.....just like walking over a hilly field! :D

Try & get everything money related on it...you'll feel so much better when you look at it as a 'whole'.

I haven't put the things I've done tonight on there ...it slipped my mind...don't think anyone has read it today ...I'll go and do it now
  • Little savings today.

I thought I was going to have to post some packages to family over the next few days costing around a fiver but luckily someone is going down and can hand deliver them. I am hoping this will help me stay under this week's budget but it's going to be tight (again!).

My overdraft is currently standing at £1192.26 and I projected it to hit £1200 so not far off. Trouble is I still have one week's groceries to get before pay day on 21st.

I'm hoping I can pay by cheque and that they won't cash them before then.

I got £20 out of the speed bank today (no tenners in there  ) and this really really has to last me....which includes bus fares for all next week at £1.50 a day...not sure I can do it as a lot of that cash went today on stamps and boot repair. Sigh.

I hope a saintly colleague sees me and picks me up one or two days, I might have a chance then! :A

Been longingly looking at the Salsa class websites for my area tonight....I used to go years ago and got to quite a reasonable standard. Then I stopped for various reasons. Wanted to go back a while now but just can't afford it at a fiver a pop before even buying a drink.

It's one of my dreams to start going again as soon as I can afford to. I'd really love to learn other Latin dancing but in this boring place I am lucky to have Salsa.

Must keep reaching for that light I can see at the end of the tunnel.

  • you sound like you are doing really well LA:) xmas is an expensive time so to manage to keep within your predicted budget is doing well!

plus i think wanting to restart salsa again is a great motivator in paying that debt down:)

  • Thanks you two. A friend has agreed to try out salsa with me (she's never been before) so we will be going in January. No point before then as we are both skint till the December pay day (me more so!).

So, I must save a bit for that!

I have Monday off work so that will save me a bus fare and also I won't go out spending money - I just want to have a day for myself at home. That can be a No Spend Day.

Perhaps I will put the £1.50 I would have used in a pot and it can be my "Salsa Fund" :D
