Thanks Minnie.
Funny that you mention you being a Christmas abstainer cos I thought of you the other day when I was thinking about the money and I thought "I really don't blame her at all!"Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Have just updated the Sunday thread/Moozie budget thing (started it in her absence) and my aim is £100 spends this week.
I need to note down what this budget is made up of, or I will forget!! I am also hoping to make savings on these things...have put down what I think is worst case scenario on things like groceries & drinks.
Groceries: £50 max
Orange PAYG Top Up: £5
Bus Fares £6
Christmas lunchtime drinks £15
Birthday card £2 max
Fresh veggies to be bought at end of week £5
Manicure £16
I also hope I can postpone some of the expenditure till the latter part of the week, when I get paid.
I have bus fare in my purse so no need to visit speedbank for that.
I have 25p on my mobile phone (wow!) and will try to use Orange on line texts where possible which are free. I will top up Wednesday evening so that the switch transaction doesn't go through till Thursday...pay day!
I hope I haven't forgotten anything!!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Hi LA is the manicure for all the hard work of saving money...lol...only joking..a girl has to have her treats...soumds like a reasonable budget to me...after all it's christmas0

You should see the poor state of my fingers if I don't have manicures!
I know it sounds pathetic and somewhat 'Californian Valley" - and I can bet there will be a few people like this  reading this.
But trust me, it's true.
I get very very dry, split cuticles which get so sore and even bleed, if they are not kept on top of.
I have tried and tried to keep on top of this myself but I end up making things worse.
All the creams in the world don't help much either. They just have to have attention by someone who knows what they are doing at least once a month. Ideally twice but clearly that's difficult to adhere to at the moment.
I have suffered with this all my adult life and decided a couple of years ago when I was 33, that "STUFF IT!!" I would spend some of my money to finally have hands I wasn't afraid to show.

Hi LA...you should have treats like that...well not treats as it's a must...do you have a local beauty college by you...just wondered as they may do it cheaper..it's good of you to keep Moozies thread going...perhaps she's no internet connection yet0

Christmas lunch time drinks.....I got up to buy a round and was told to sit down! The boss bought them all!
So that's saved me some cash.
I have led a charmed life this Christmas season I have to say - and I am grateful!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Hi LA....well that's some more money saved..doesn't it seem sometimes when we are helping ourselves that good things happen..if you know what I mean...so that's £15 back in your budget...yeeeee0
-
Yay £15 back in my purse! Love it.
I remembered tonight that I applied for a Cahoot savings account via QuidCo and that application was accepted and the account is now open with a big old £2.50 deposit (well....they asked for £1 so come on...they've got more than double!).
My transaction was not recorded on QuidCo though so I have logged an enquiry with them tonight. Fingers crossed that it is sorted out because that is a very handy £25 they could pay out.
Mind you I won't hold my breath as I have a £2.38 HQ Hair enquiry still outstanding from June and my boyfriend still has a £40 Direct Line enquiry outstanding from August
However, we can but try.
Well I wonder how Moozie is doing with the new home and Minnie with the study. I hope you two are both doing ok out there....hope you come back soon. (Taxi & I are getting lonely eh tax?)
Right well I am off now to do a bit of housework - joy of joys. Well the bathroom won't clean itself will it? I will try and think of scrubbing my debt away as I scrub the tiles!
Nobody better use this excuse to call me a scrubber by the way! :rotfl:Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
