Ah LA...well done on being so determined to be debt free...you're an inspiration!!!...so sorry you'll miss out but will it be on the television(the sport)..and I'm so proud of you but next time its the world championships because you are DF and will have been frugal with your money due to OS ways and you will have saved for it...you will be ecstatic as it will be worry free!!
As for the dancing thing in your own town I'm sure you'll be able to save for the ticket...I have every faith in you!!
Lastly you are not cheating with your sig as it's allocated and you've altered the OD..
Don't be so hard on yourself....from what I can see you've really got to grips with this and know that sometimes in life there'll be disappointment...you'll feel so much better when you're DF!!
  • Aww thanks so much taxi - I appreciate your very kind words.

The sport probably won't be on television by the way, well actually maybe highlights on BBC1, possibly live on Sky but I don't have Sky so, won't be able to watch it (and I'll be at work anyway).

    Hey LA

Sounds like you are being a bit harsh on yourself. You are doing so well and you should applaud your efforts - I certainly do! :T

I think only you know whether it's worth going on that trip. I do wonder if 'punishing' (that's how it comes across  ) yourself will be a good thing in the long run. I mean, will it help your motivation or will it bring you down next year when you are in the routine of saving and paying off debt? Just something to think about.

Well done on getting those totals down! They are looking goooooooood!!!

  • Hi Moozie. Thanks for your perspective, always appreciated.

I do feel it is the right decision not to go on the trip as the light at the end of the tunnel will be there - but fragile - and I really want to get well out of my overdraft for a while. Well forever really!

I really do need to get into the habit of saving for things because I've clearly shown myself to be an irresponsible person with credit cards & overdrafts, I go mad! I just want to change....

I'm just peeved at myself for being so rubbish in the past (I mean over x amount of years not necessarily now).

  • Well I went to the hairdressers today and wrote a cheque so it wouldn't cash for hopefully *at least* a week! He is slow at paying in cheques.

However I will include it in this coming week's Moozie budget just in case.

Also it was £5 less than I expected so a saving there.

AND - good news - I may have won a competition at work to do with football which, if I have, will mean I have won £30! I find out on Tuesday.

If I have won it, I will use some of it for that ticket to the dance show. How cool would that be if I have won??

Wow that will be brill if you've won... that will be the proper DFW to get the ticket and £5 cheaper for your hair that's great...hope you have won...that'll be a nice little boost for you
  • Hooray - I just checked Quidco and it's gone from just £1.44 payable to £6.69!

I know it's not a fortune but it all helps bring down the overdraft.

I think I will dedicate a bit of time later on today (after grocery shopping) to trying to think of every penny I will need in January and then see if the predicted overdraft figure will come down. Even if it's £10 it's a reduction and going in the right direction.
