I never rubbished the OP's persons DX but I told the truth that MH DXs are as fashionable as any other conditions DX and I have total understanding unlike you who just wants to say "there, there" and offer unquestionable support which helps nobody.
I have more experiance that anyone else that I know, I even spent a year doing WE at Winterton.
I mentioned celebraty because over the last five years every person in the public eye with any problem has bipolar and real life follows, if you think otherwise you dont understand thae way life works with trends.
That is the most idiotic post I think I've ever read on this forum. Going with your "theory" I suppose it was the utmost fashion to have polio in the 50's- oh and suppose it was fashionable to be diagnosed with aids in the 80's ? ...... For somebody who's clearly trying to come across as intelligent .... Your are clearly lacking my friend.
I've got bipolar- however yesterday I wore a t shirt from primark - notice the irony ?
I would love it if people like you could live a a few months in the life of a sufferer - you would hang your head in shame looking back at this.0 -
[wanders in, reads the posts and walks straight back out again, as having a fashion statement diagnosis means it is impossible to provide any advice that would be worthwhile, having been only put forward for houses as a direct result of the council here accepting that a flat would be unsuitable for someone with bipolar]I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0

LD = Learning Disability
ASD = Autism and Asperger's Syndrome
aspie = Ditto = Autism and Asperger's Syndrome
Winterton = an asylum in Sedgefield built 1856 to 1996 [ known as the big chimney ] Co Durham about 10 minutes from my home
Bipolar / Manic Depression = used to be 3 varieties = unipolar / unipolar & depressive / bipolar & depressive & mania. Now its bipolar 1 and bipolar 2
- you are currently reading and have been reading this thread for ages 23:40hrs .. .. .. are you going to respond my friend ?
Firstly apologies to satankidneypie for making public a point you made via pm re: it was a professor who diagnosed your friend.
I had pm'd the OP to offer reassurance as they were relatively new to the forum & I felt their thread was being treated unfairly in some cases.
So before anyone jumps to conclusions, I am not connected to the OP in any way. If I was in similar circumstances, I am quite capable in starting a thread.0 -
Im getting completely lost as too were this thread is going?
sunnyone outing themself? Im still not understanding that part?
Ralphy 101 I like your humor. RFTB does seem to come accross as an academic (probably without an academic qualification/experienced). Seems to be a "Ive read read Stirner, Orwell & De Sade via wikipedia kind".0 -

Oh deary deary me, what are you saying my friend ?
- I have never sent a PM to anyone in my life and I've never read any sent to me
- - - anything I write is done with full public forum scrutiny
- you yourself, not I mentioned diagnosis by a professor in your own #24
- your disclosure that you PM'd the O/P is news to everyone, no one, even the mods have access to that !Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. I'm sorry but to suggest it's fashionable is just to suggest it's fabricated. It comes back to the "if I can't see it then it must not be real" - those recently aired tv adverts are specifically targeting this issue. I doubt if the other person would suggest to somebody who's physically disabled that it's fashionable- so why the difference ? a disability is a disability !0

What does it matter whether you have sent a member a pm?
Why did I have reason to mention I'd sent a personal message to satankidneypie?0 -

Oh you dont you see my friend is clearly a lying scoundral. Dont you see that attampting to kill yourself, compulsive spending spree's that they cant afford, taking medication that leaves them almost paralysed in bed unable to move are all the rage.
My friend rejects having stable relationships. Submits there driving licence to the DVLA as there a dedicated follower of fashion.0 -

Fashion [able], maybe sunnyone is referring to current thinking !
Historically the wealthy and A listers used to go into a clinic with exhaustion. These last several years its Bipolar.
It's the current in-word for substance abuse led difficulties. The current view that substance use is associated with the development of bipolar disorder for some individuals for the genetically vulnerable.
I'm not suggesting that's the case for any posters here, but that's my view on why the media has shifted from exhaustion to bipolar.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
