Filled up again.......£1.40.9
Lets keep a tab, and we can look back and remember when we could just about to afford to go to work........

Cost me £98 to put 65 litres of diesel into the Mondeo last week. Would've been over £100 if the tank had been fully empty.0

We're going on holiday in June - driving from home in Essex to the Orkney Islands (via a car ferry from the top of Scotland before the smart a$$es comment
). Booked it last year. Not thinking about the petrol cost because my eyes might bleed.
In June 2008 we went to the Lake District and I remember we ran short of petrol on the way home and were forced to get some at a motorway service station. I only put £10 worth in because I was so thoroughly outraged at the motorway price of 124.9p per litre. How times have changed.
I wouldn't mind paying so much if the higher prices were forcing people off the road so driving was more pleasant (looking forward to getting north of Carlisle where it becomes fun), but no sign of it so far...0 -
I filled up for 131.9p yesterday. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

Just got back from a holiday in Scotland - we did 1500 miles over the holiday and the petrol bill was pretty horrific.
Since we weren't in a rush on the way up I took it easy and managed to get 47 mpg out of my petrol A4 which is the best I've seen since I've owned it. Just goes to show what a difference driving technique makes.0 -
Since the start of this thread, I reckon petrol has gone up by about 6p per litre (or 5p if you take the fuel duty cut in the budget into account). What a big help the budget was to us all motorists! Does anyone know of anything else that increases in price so often?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

There are people on my estate who drive their kids 500 yards to school and back for gods sake. That's all that car does every day!!
There's even one bloke who drives quarter of a mile to the paper shop every morning.
People a lazy and thoughtless. I'm simply saying car use in this country in this day and age is excessive and in many situations totally needless.
The problem is that if petrol goes up 10%, the guy who only uses his car to drive to the corner shop finds his petrol bills goes from £20 to £22, and the guy who commutes to his office every day finds his petrol bill goes up from £300 to £330.
It would be nice to have a unnecessary journey tax, but what can you do in practice?0
