  • My advice would be to just set yourself tiny targets. If I had a bill that was £543.26 for example, my first target would be to get it down to £525, then to £499, then to £475 etc, etc.

I 'started' my DF journey so many times, trying to get rid of a £543.26 debt and when months later it was still a debt, I would be disappointed, beat myself up and fall into the 'sod it, I'll spend some more money to make myself feel better' trap.

Small targets are far easier to achieve and gives you more successes, if that makes sense. For me, those successes spurred me on.

Hope that helps and hope you have a lovely weekend

    Diz xx

Thank you so much for the advice, thats a good way of doing it and you have done so well. Its so easy just to spend to make us feel better but having that success feeling is what I inspire to achieve!

    Thank you xxx

  • I spoke to OH last night and he has agreed its ok for me to look for an evening/night job! He isnt happy about it but I said to him I cant carry on like this. He said hes money is ours but why is it that I never have any money and I am only allocated money for food shopping? I also said we never save anything for birthdays/christmas and he was 'whats your problem it comes out of my account' The cheek of it, it doesnt because why is it he can afford to do what he wants yet I seem to be out buying the presents, worrying about finding the money, etc etc! I just love how the relationship is such a joint effort!

So now its time to find an evening night job! Where do I start?

Ebay havent emailed me back yet. Oh I do hope they consider my limits.

I am feeling slightly better today, just hope that I can get things done and achieve!

I switched utility supplier but am going back to my old one. I received bills for £173 for electric and £79 for gas which will be taken out this month, they can jog on, I cant afford that. So I went through a cashback site and hopefully as well as switching back I should earn cashback. Well this is me so probably not!

I just want to do my best, I just want to live life without this ridiculous amount of worry and stress. I really do. Will it ever get any better, will it ever get any easier? I just feel life is going to be one big struggle and i am always going to feel like this. xxx

I know it is a struggle right now Lost but don't give up hope. It does get easier and better it just takes time. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that!! Don't jump up and down on yourself every single time you have a small setback, just move on and look for the good things. One step at a time, one day at a time. Don't expect it to happen overnight but look to see a small improvement in 6 months time. I know it seems like ages away but it will happen.

My first suggestion is to create a brilliant CV. This is your 'opening introduction' and the potential employers first view of you, so make the first impression a fantastic one. I can DM you some ideas if you'd like?

Secondly, don't just apply for jobs which are advertised. Write to companies that you'd like to work for spectlatively, stating the type of work you are looking for.

They might not have anything, but then again they might and it shows that you are a proactive, motivated type of person.

Hope today has been a good day for you :) xx
I myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions...
  • This hasnt been a very good week, but its nearly over and a new start is in reach, a new fresh motivated start. I am struggling with coming to terms with my overall situation but is it that I am making a 'meal' out of it and that actually if I sit back and put a plan into place with achievable small tasks which are going to change the immediate but work towards the future.

I have recieved an email from Ebay and they have said that I dont have any limits on my account, very strange as I am only allowed to list 7 items. so what I thought, tonight I will list.

My aim is to achieve small little teeny tiny goals. To work towards my big goal - be debt free. xx

Thank you for the great tips. Thats really helpful. I am just looking for something part time in evenings/nights. Ideally something which I would be able to pick up overtime if possible if I would be able to. I will dig the old cv out and have a look at changing it.

    Thank you xx

Best kind of goals to have are the achievable ones :T
