Just had a call from another agent in our office with her collections yesterday she knows she is £45 down this week and over the past 3 weeks has lost £160. Well she has said she is takin the £160 out of her float along with her commission for next week and Monday morning she us handing her clip in. As she is self employed (ha ha) she claim claim dole money right away and when she works out the hours she works and the money she will get she will be better off until she can get something else. Our s/e status is how they exploit us to not pay minim wage and holiday pay. I have worked out how many hours I work and how much I earned last week and it was only £5.20 an hour. I think more people will do what my friend has done. So anyone thinking of jacking it in make sure you keep a list of all your deductions and get it back if ya jack it in. Crook you deserve this.

I now feel that its no longer my round so therfore I cant be self employed can I as I didnt make the decision to do the loan, someone else did!

Who is protected from unauthorised deductions

Which workers are covered by the legislation

There is a legislation to protect a worker's wages from having unauthorised deductions mdae from them. In this context worker has a differnet defintion to that of an employee.

    A worker includes:-
-an employee under a contrat of service or an apprentice
-a self-employed person under a contract for services, unless s/he is running a business or offering a professional service and the other party is a client. So, for example, a sub-contractor working on a building site counts as a worker, but an architiect employed to desgin the same building does not.

Purpleputo I think you have something here that we should explore. We are paid to bring in leads and collect from those leads! We do not make the final decision on if a customer gets the money or not. Either the branch management do or company procedure. How then can they penalise us for a decision they have made. Again this comes back to the employed/self employed question of control and I think that needs looking into.
  • This new system stinks,
you go to a customer and they refuse.. you say can you pay £5 or I will be charged for you not paying...they say no it's not my problem .
What Pi***s me off I never lent it to them in the 1st place they were transferred onto my agency!!

And WHY should we pay for UTR customers who have done a runner ?

I reckon we need to be more selective when lending.. DM's won't be happy !!
  • I’ll tell you all what I’m doing this week and suggest anyone thinking of leaving does the same. I went to the office as usual to collect my bag, asked for a float cheque. Cashed the cheque. Took my wages as per balancing sheet. Now I’m NOT out collecting and will take back the uncollected clip and balance of the cheque next week and say good bye. Im telling all my customers that ring me, I’ve got car problems and will collect next week. I’m txting fake figures to my manager every morning to “keep him happy” lol. Well hes not exactly sticking up for us. I’m doing this because the last agent that left with a greivance waited 7 weeks for their last weeks wage. UP YOURS PROVIDENT. LOBL LAUGH OUT BLOODY LOUD……………………………………………….

They only do it so they can get their bonus , They don't care if it pushes people over the edge , I have seen it so many tomes in the last 12 months .
If I had done it my way they would have still been paying what they could have afforded .

    Excellent.

Provident belongs to the elite group of companies that pay the highest dividends to shareholders. This change seems likely to increase the level of dividends still further, so that shareholders are adequately rewarded for the risk that they run.

Angry Norfolk, this is a very good idea. they don't bend over backwards like we have in the past, there is no loyalty what so ever so I will be doing exactly the same as soon as I get my other job with their rival company!:T
