I totally agree! Everyone is reluctant to put on new business and loan as we guess it is going to cost us money. Result customers and sales down, chuck in a small promotion , (lets face it, now more than ever we need the extra £'s) we all fall for it and they then get their extra customers and sales!!!!0

Individually, you must have signed an agreement/contract with provident. If the agreement states that they will pay you "comission". The only way forward is to form an association "entity" with proper mission statement, purpose/role of the group etc. You could then all become members. The association would then negotiate with provident on this matter (representing its members) and possibly other issues as they arise. From your comments I assume you are disgruntled about deductions being made from your commission. What is the definition of "commission" in your contract? If it clearly states what constitutes "commission" and it makes no reference to "deductions" being made resulting from a third parties non-payment then you may all have a case for "breach of contract." - Seek legal advice quickly because the longer it goes on the less chance you have of overturning the decision as it becomes common practice.
Hope this helps.
As a self employed person...are you not entitled to invoice the Provident for your time, petrol, car and every time you go to the office for business or meetings....or does it specifically state to the the contrary in your contracts?0 -

[C or U] a (system of) payment to someone who sells goods which is directly related to the amount of goods sold.
I have been advised that your agreement only states that "commission" will be paid. The above is a definition from the English Dictionary - I strongly believe you all have a case for "breach of contract"0 -

as selfemployed agents we are all in a catch 22 situation,if we dont get any sales or put any new customers on it will cost ourselves commission if we do get sales and put people on and they go bad it will cost us commission and the extra 5,10,15 pound as well!!. so what are going too do about it, we strike ,we lose commission ,we reduce sales,we lose commission.we dont put people on we lose commission...its called cutting off youre nose too spite your face!!
I agree we need to do something to get back at them and hit them in the pocket too, so we are left with a choice and mine is that i will refuse any canvas customers and refuse any other agents crap customers and i will give it the 12 weeks that it needs to go full circle and if my commision is still down .....im off,.:mad:0 -

Me too I think, the stress is getting to me now,all I think about is this crap! Other companies will take on good agents no prob. A friend of mine works for one of provies rivals and she says theyre laughing at the whole situation. They've had loads of good applicants and havent even had to advertise! provident have saved them the trouble!0 -

HELLO NEWBIE :wave:0 -
Issued £6000 in sales today, all authorised by management. They think it's good issue, but if it goes bad I take a hit on my commission. Mild arrears are accounted for in the charges, but I will lose commission. If it's authorised why am I losing?? They made the credit decision, not me.
I'm trying my best to achieve targets... and they screw me if it goes wrong.0
