  • just get on with it! I have been an agent for a long time now and i have made an incredible amount of money from it especially during promotions, this is here to stay and don't think that provident will stop it because they wont if you don't like it you can always join the dole line!there are plenty of people out there who will want to do this job. instead of looking at all the negatives start to focus on how you can actually make money in other ways, we now get 10 times commission for any re-issue we do there is also gasa promo which if you look at it properly and put the work in as i do you could make an extra 5 grand plus a year! offer to do runners = extra money you have to do this quick though because people don't want to wait! do fresh start do new doors new business offer to do re-issue on vacant books as we get the commission get a deputy and collect vacant books = extra commission do canvass on your own area and get your new doors it all adds up, i make on average around £500 a week and i work hard for it that's what you have to do, its not a part time job its a business our business. good luck on what ever you decide to do.

    thank you
Getting sick of the DM's ROM's posting in here telling us how wonderful things are! Very soon there will be a rebellion and you lot will be left holding the baby so to speak.
    THANK YOU

Yes obviously an AM,ROM or above to speak company speak! you are not interviewing an agent for a job now and trying to sell it to them, its agents you are posting to and while you may think half of them are stupid they could probably run circles around you. I was once a dm for this lot and the things dm's are expected to do are just beyond belief so dont try to justify this insane penalty system as it will come back to bite you in the a-s
  • I am the same. I have 5 customers who I have lost £15 pounds for each of them. These customers were brought on by dm/canvassers and having called on them numerous times cannot get payments. In response to another posting two consecutive misses cost the agent £15 each customer as it goes straight to stage 12. I will not go near these customers doors again as if i've lost £15 on each then provident can lose the rest of the money, but as we all know it will be recycled into fresh start in about 3 months and so the process starts again. The DM's love fresh start as it counts to their figures for bonus and if they are hitting hard times this is where their figures come from.

Sorry which company do you work for ? because you do not have a clue what you are talking about
  • I think part of the problem agents have right now is that if you ask a dm to do a call for you and that customer is not in until 6.30pm + then there is very little chance your dm will do that call no matter how much its costing you. What the DM's need to remember is your contract with the company states you will work the hours required to suit the business needs. Half the problem right now is agents are being blamed for not collecting these non payers etc but they are not the ones losing money its agents. Surely there should some penalty for DM's, AM's ROM etc also.

Wow you are some DM ? quite typical of the management not knowing their company arrears stages! and this the calibre of people fining us agents!
  • Provident run scared when someone leaves as the figures for that agency fall so much. dm's just dont have the knowledge to collect efficiently Who are they going to fill the posts with eastern europeans? that wont wash with customers, they want a banter with agents not having to give a lesson in english. If there are so many people to fill these jobs then why is there a specialist team at head office who purely do agent recruitment. its not that easy as most people wont do this type of work due to the risks involved. Who really needs clerks? if the company had followed its pda trials through then most of them would be gone. again here we have a company who want to be market leaders but fall at final hurdle for the sake of a few pounds. this would have made everyones job easier as performance could be monitored and all admin done through a tel line instead of wasting time in offices.
You can tell a story , the pda cost a fortune but would not do the required job it had nothing to do with costings, most DM's are ex agents and are more than capable of doing a good job on an agency, and the specialist recruitment team consisits of a grand total of 2 :rotfl:

No for your info the pda took too long to change and update information and were unable to be read in bright sunlight. if your going to post and pick people up on things at least be truthful. Regardless of how many are in a dept there is still a department there dealing with only recruitment and we all know its been a problem for years. You cant sugar coat everything!!!

If you got your sales objectives the DM's could chase your arrears.

Exactly it would not do the job !! COSTING was not the factor.

you quite clearly know nothing about the indiviuals you are posting about and are just on here noising people up. if you read my earlier posts as this seems to be what you are doing, going over all older posts you would have seen that i now work for shopacheck but have many friends who still work in provi, i was once a dm for provi so yes i do know what i am talking about. getting the companies sales objectives (notice how we're not talking targets any more-hit a nerve by any chance, or has hmrc been in touch lol) is what has gotten the provi in this sh--ole in the first instance. Total greed.
