One of the Agents where i am ,( i'm not going to say exactly , except its Northern Ireland , never know who is lurking) has spoken to Citizens Advice , they looked into it and have said that its illegal what Provi are doing , they are sending him all the info and we are photocopying it and giving it to all the agents , now i'm only going by what this other agent has said , if it turns out that we get good info from the C.A i'll post it up here for everyone to read / print off.

Thank you so much that would be great.
I lost another £35 thats £45 in total since this began, I know a lot worse off . Really bad atmosphere in our office yesterday , everyone upset , even the very few agents that "made" money as they don't trust this new system looking at payers on reduced rates its frightening what will be coming through and whats ahead !!:(
  • I am an agent with Provident, I enjoy my job and I like 'working' my agency. I have built up good relationships in the 15 years associated with the company. We have all experienced alot of change in the last few years, some good and some bad. The latest changes to our contracts are in my opinion a step too far. I don't want to stop working for the company but I do want the company to know how I an other agents feel. Many rely on their weekly wage and can not affford to have deductions made irrespective of whether they may or may not get them back later. Any deductions mean they have to go without for that week.

In our office i feel some support from some DM's and the AM because they are the ones receiving all the flack from disgruntled agents and some agents have left because of the ill feeling!

To all the other agents who are in the same position as me, I suggest that you withdraw from all sales starting week 20! Do collect because you need to earn money and your customers do need you too. For those reading this note, please talk to your colleagues and ask them to support this action. It is only collectively that we can get Provident to review these changes and possibly reconsider. If your not happy then it;s SIMPLE! Act now and ACT TOGETHER!

Please respond to this and let me know whether you are going to support this action? Thank you!

Thanks Provident , just had to use my credit card to put petrol in my car to collect . This was due to a bad week with the double yes, we have just come through a double bank holiday !!! Comission really down anyway, then I have been deducted £35 !! Can't do this every week !! I wonder how many agents will have to renew their own loans to get by ?? More business for Provident YOU WIN AGAIN !!

please get this straight they are not Fines they are commision adjustments.
just as your commision is adjusted in a positive way when you all stop whingeing and do the job you are supposed to do.
no more posts from me for two weeks off to my second home in devon.
    bye bye

Devon , how BORING , i'm going to my second home in the USA , not much sun about in Devon this time of year , isn't it great how all the DMs can take off when ever they feel like it but us agents need to get someone to cover our books , BUT , the DMs will feel the pinch soon enough , and you may need to get rid of your WEE second dwelling in ENGLAND , what a crying shame that would be:T , MR DM/AM

We in N.I have been discussing this , we have been told that we can be got rid of because we are supposed to sell , if this isn't the case we are with you 100% , if it is the case we will just do sales but not hit any targets , can you shed any light , i know we are supposed to be self employed and that means we are our own boss but you know what the company is like.

yet again provi rip off agents i have customers that have gone to cccs meaning i am not allowed to collect but am still penalised commission manager just shrugged his shoulders, dms were paid a sales bonus of £3000 prior to christmas but wont visit arrears cases all they are interested in is sales and customers not quality i am also a shareholder in provi so make good dividends but this is my main source of income that is being taken away
  • Its about time the lazy managers got off there backsides ,instead of sitting in the office they should be out knocking on doors chasing up bad creditors instead of pushing the agents to make more sales ,they get paid no matter what and get a bonus when there agents make there targets ,i made £70 this week had £35 taken off me ,i put £20 in petrol in my car to do my round £15 for my pay its a bloody joke .
  • You are all self employed. As such you have no employment rights. So if you do not undertake the job for which you are contracted to do the company can sack you with no recourse to unfair dismissal etc. They don't even need to give you a valid reason.

Individually, you must have signed an agreement/contract with provident. If the agreement states that they will pay you "comission". The only way forward is to form an association "entity" with proper mission statement, purpose/role of the group etc. You could then all become members. The association would then negotiate with provident on this matter (representing its members) and possibly other issues as they arise. From your comments I assume you are disgruntled about deductions being made from your commission. What is the definition of "commission" in your contract? If it clearly states what constitutes "commission" and it makes no reference to "deductions" being made resulting from a third parties non-payment then you may all have a case for "breach of contract." - Seek legal advice quickly because the longer it goes on the less chance you have of overturning the decision as it becomes common practice.

    Hope this helps.
