Anyone know what happens if we get a customer to pay by cheque which stops a -£10 fine and then the cheque bounces a few weeks later. Do we end up with our commission docked to cover the no payment PLUS the fine or just the adjusted commission?.0

Im from Hull , Managers cant do loans or cover ya book (unless sickness or vacant), as its to do with the fine line employed or self employed with the inland revenue !! provident are trying to cover there !!!!!! so they dont have to class us as an employee employed by a company !!
This would be a good idea for provident to start paying a basic wage to their agents and a reduced amount of commission issued if loans are renewed or new customers added to the book.
I think however the desent voiced by most agents on here should be addressed to the chairman and the ceo, i have been trying to find their email addresses so i can put it up here for you.0 -

They won't pay a basic wage or class agents as employed as this would cost the company to much i.e holiday pay , sick pay , maternity pay , Tax and national insurance.
Some agents would be better off some wouldn't but in all fairness we would have a better leg to stand on .0 -

Yes
As now they will take the commission back they paid you and when the minus is put against the account it will move it up the arrears pots and you will lose the £10
To be honest theres a lot of temper tantrums on here but nothing constructive seems to be happening.
Do you really think watchdog will care? A few years ago provident was on there for charging too much so are they going to be concerned agents are losing out.
Best way to go is taxman, they have dm's go out and do issue which takes away the self employed status of an agent.
Someone needs to start a petition to provident and we need to put our names to it. They cannot sack us for having an opinion and saying they are wrong. If we are all losing money and going to leave anyway what have we got to lose?0 -
As prov just said goto HMRC they will decide whether the agents are employed not provident, as dm's are employed by provident this does make the whole self employed situation some what untenable when they can issue and collect books.0

why cant this new pay structure happen once a month then if they are correct we could prepare each month for a shortfall or gain i think its totally unfair to take away half my wages in one week when i rely on my wages each week for me and my big family
we are expected to work all hours all year round which most of us do (xmas eve, new years eve, 9 inches of snow and -9 degrees)
me personally i didnt take a weekend off for 3 years i was working 11 days over due with my baby i was out on crutches with a broken foot do i need to go on many agents will have done the same
AND THIS IS HOW YOU REWARD US MR CROOK CHEERS FOR THAT I HOPE ONE DAY YOUR WAGES WILL BE CUT IN HALF SEE IF YOU DONT MOAN!!!!0 -
he will not even notice a cut from all he's getting0

Sad day for all.0

Agents have worked all over the weekend, including the Bank Holiday days.
I've heard today that Agents have gone into the office to pay-in but the Area Manager demanded more sales, refused to allow the Agent to pay-in and ordered the Agent back out to find more sales.
I thought the Company did not tell Agents when to visit customers and it was up to the Agent to decide what days they worked ?0
