HSBC security key

The only thing that bothers me about the key is having to use it every single time I want to see my account. I can't even log in without it. It just seems like overkill. My boyfriend is with Natwest and has a pin reader thingy, and he only has to use that when he wants to create a new payment. That makes more sense to me!
HSBC are bringing out apps where you can view balances without the secure key I believe. It's already out on iOS so if you have an iPhone give that a go.

As usual with all big brands, Android support is months behind iPhone which is rediculous!0

You mean enforcing to use the secureID key?
I thought it was compulsory months ago!
Nope. I was able to log-in the 'normal way' up until a few days ago. Now I get this:
The user ID you have entered has not been recognised, please try again. If you have not yet received or activated a Secure Key, select the Register for Internet Banking link below. (LOG_0002)Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -

The reference number for the payment is your credit card number. As for the corporate card, have a look at the bill and see what number they want you to quote if paying by online banking or BACS.urs sinserly,

Following on from my issues with these keys... I just moved all my accounts to Lloyds. I can now sign in whenever I want, wherever I am, without remember a device.
My business account is still with HSBC, that will take more effort to move, but I will have to move, sometimes I leave the security key at home by mistake and then have to telephone HSBC to pay employees as I cant login to do it electronically. Terrible.0 -

Given that Lloyds already have card reader devices for business accounts I wonder how long you will be happy there?0 -

those saying it takes a week to replace, you should be given the option when you phone up to pick one up at a branch.. much easier and faster.. well, if you have a branch nearby..0
