Gosh
it sounds like I'm stereotyping DD and making her into little housewife.
Honest, I got the kitchen cos she loves playing with the pots and pans in the "real" kitchen and "cooking" with raw pasta and rice.
I'm not a horrid throwback - i do believe in equality, honest. And DS got a hoover for his 3rd birthday (he asked for it):rotfl:

I love fruit cakes (light ones as opposed to xmas tyoe ones) and I'm drooling at the thought of such delights as coffee and walnut etc. My friend gave me a recipe for a date and something cake which sounded scrummy but i have yet to make it (or even remember exactly what it is :rotfl:)
Need to get making HM mince pies. Resorted to bying a box of 18 today at Makros as my boys love them. Mind you, if I had a tv in the kitchen I could bake etc AND watch Celebrity GMOOH
*wanders off thinking about where on earth I could fit a tv into the kitchen.....*
oh my goodness what happened here - you were in Harvey Nicks last weekend now its Mrs Beeton:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi everyone!
Back again and with a sensible colour this time:D
I'm such a child on the pc...far more interested in teaching everyone how to put on groovy titles using Wordart and inserting symbols and clipart pics rather than teaching IF functions in Excel. I'm the same with biros...everything would be in purple or hideous green if I had my way!!
Now I am feeling all Christmassy:rudolf: :xmassmile :snow_laug :santa2: :xmastree: :xmassign: :snow_grin as have just rung OH and asked him to dig out the Advent calendar for the small person...it's a new one with pockets that I've filled with sweeties. Have also worked out the budget for the Chrimbo drink...Lidl cream liquor here I come!!
Having said I wouldn't do any OS during my hour at home still managed to empty the bin, put a dark load, help OH finish the lunches and get all small person's school stuff sorted for tomorrow. Back here for a rest now!!
Cheerio

Hi,
Peem - re stereotyping, when dd was a baby dh decreed that she was never to be dressed in pink and I said that I would never buy her a doll. BY 18 months she was stealing other childrens dolls so I got her one of her own. By 2 yo she was determinedly refusing to wear anything but pink.:rotfl:
Well I seem to have killed off the Chrimbo avatar thread in the arms:o That's why I so rarely post anywhere but here, I'm a champion thread killer.
Got home to find my organic veg box on the step so must go and wash it before dh comes home, he's not keen on dirty veg.
Mum is a bit better thankfully.0 -

Hi everyone
I'm not caught up yet. Got up at 6 as usual, made penninewoman's breakfast toast as usual, fed both black cats plus Stranger Cat outside once she arrived (within a few minutes of BIG black cat going out to fetch her
), then dropped off until 8:45 when I thought I'd have an hour or so in bed so climbed back in. Then, . . . . . . . . hours later, 12:35 p.m. I woke up and thought eeekk! Has it really been so long. And, yes, it had. That's the trouble with pain-killers, they're a bit sleep-inducing too.
So, quick beans-on-toast lunch and then off to mum's to get receipt to allow me to pick up a light fitting she'd ordered. Meant driving round N.E. M/cr which I hate, but got the fitting and dropped it off at mum's.
Then loaded the car with gi-normous Christmas pressie she and my sister had bought for me.
Stayed to chat to mum for a couple more hours and found out more dark secrets of her former customers in the 50s and 60s - she used to hairdress.
Then home, open pressie (as ordered to) and found neat digital keyboard. So will now spend years learning it . . . .
Well, refreshing the piano knowledge from 40-odd years ago. And think I'll try playing some of the compositions I part-wrote earlier this year after tuition from a strange lady.
Hope everyone else has not had too bad a day: I haven't had time to read everyone's posts, but will try to later.
P.S. Just noticed jellycat had long sleep too. Is there something in the air?Where now?0 -
I see everyone's light off so you are all snuggled up in bed.
What are the last name's of the people in the Celeberity Show? It isn't Jason Donovan is it?
Just having my morning cuppa before I get my act together. DH left early as he had to pick up the waterproofing guy from the early ferry. OS popped over last night. Head shaved and all. He shaves it now as working in a coal mine it's a lot easier to manage. He usually has lovely curls which he hated
.
Pink That is young for the shaving. Poor thing. I always think how tedious for a fella to shave every day. YS is 22 now and is still in the bum fluff stage. OS was a bit more hairier.
Good night all.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.
