    Thank you mummy :)

Having a quick sit down before LM gets back. Gap-Dad has taken her to the dentist. The usual 6 month check up, nothing serious. Gap-Dad takes her because I have dental phobia (it is a real thing!). I am dealing with it now really well. I have a very nice dentist who has trained specifically to deal with people like me. It is private (not NHS) but it is totally worth the money. I didn't go for about 8 years because I was so petrified and eventually I realised I had to deal with it as it was ridiculous and totally out of control (oh, and a tooth broke) I couldn't even say the word dentist and if someone started talking about anything to do with dentists I had to leave the room.

So, LM is having one of her friends round for tea. They have asked for chicken dippers and chips. Healthy. This is one of LM's best friends and she is a nice girl and is a pleasure to have round. LM has been asking and asking for ages to have this wee girl round. I kept saying no because of the mess of the house (she does get friends round every now and then but only when the house is tidy) but now that I am starting to deal with it I am feeling more confident :T

On that note, I must dash and tidy up more before they get back.

    Oh, £1.30 to PAD today.

  • I always ask DDs friends over to play as I feel sorry for her being an only, I normally make them play in her room or the garden, it keeps her quiet so I can get on and do some jobs (although her room ends up like a bomb has gone off) but no visitors this week :( She has been awful again today, so teary, high maintenance. I am obviously biased but she is such a pretty little thing and her face is so covered in spots :(

I am not as bad as you with the dentist, but not far off, I make myself go (although havent been for at least a year so much be due) but spend the whole time sweating and heart racing.

On top of chicken pox, DD has a front tooth coming out, but the baby tooth won't come out so the new tooth is pushing behind and the baby tooth is now sticking out at a funny angle  I am encouraging her to wiggle it to try and get it to come out as I am worried the new one won't be able to grow straight if there is a baby one in the way - makes me cringe just thinking about it :o

Aww poor DD Itsa. LM has big teeth in with baby ones still on top. Dentist says it is fine as I think she only has one left like that now. He says to wobble it as much as possible. Makes me cringe too _pale_ In fact, a year ago I wouldn't have been able to read your post! Hope she is feeling better again soon. Once it is over and you are a couple of years down the line you will hardly remember it!

I know what you mean about DD being pretty. I remember when LM was about 18 months. We woke up one morning and her face and some of her body were swollen. Big shock so straight to sick kids but the stupid thing is, I had a photograph of her in my purse and kept taking it out and showing people that she didn't normally look like that. Don't know if maybe I was trying to reassure myself that she would eventually be back to normal. Just in case you were wondering, it turned out she had an allergy to fresh orange juice. She is fine now, it's just that I had given her too much at that age. I still limit her a little just in case but nothing like that has ever happened since thank goodness.

Well, £1 to PAD. Zumba tonight. Gap-Parents house for tea. Tomorrow is 1st June! Finally we will be out of neverending May :j

LM loved having her friend round last night :D The time went so fast for them though and they were disappointed when it ended :( Now that I am getting things under control she can have friends round more often again :T

Nothing else to report at the mo.

It's finally June!! :j:j I'm not wishing the year away but I just wanted to get out of May. 26 days to payday :(

LM loves having friends round. I have said she can have friends round more often now. I just feel so much more in control of myself and my life now

I have had dentists that have shouted at me / laughed at me / made me cry (well, to be fair, that is all of them :o) / and just generally been horrible to me. I hate the noise, the smell, the thought, the feeling (both my feelings and the feeling of someone poking around in my mouth). It was Gap-Sis who found the dentist I go to now. They had an open day for "nervous" patients. I went along and [STRIKE]cried[/STRIKE] bawled my eyes out. They were so lovely to me, so understanding and so kind. It is funny now, they all know when my appointment is and they know exactly who I am when I walk through the door!! Normally I would just be NHS for that kind of thing but there are so many benefits that I get from paying for it, including a very sympathetic dentist who actually cares about how I feel. Anyway, enough about that :)

Gap-Mum gave me £35 yesterday :j She had bought herself some dancing shoes and they were slightly too tight so she gave them to Gap-Sis. She gave me the money because she won't give to one without giving to the other. I reminded her that if she hadn't told me I wouldn't have been any the wiser but she said her conscience would have bothered her. Poor Gap-Mum, or at least she will be poor if she carries on like that :rotfl: She is so kind. I wanted to put some of the money towards my PAD but Little Miss has book fair today so I gave her £10 for that (she likes to get a book and a couple of rubbers and pencils), I put £5 in my purse and I am keeping the other £20 towards the wedding and hen do I have this month. I treated myself to some fizzy juice this morning :D. I have been keeping water in the fridge at work and I have been drinking it every day and I haven't spent any money at work for the past two weeks :T so I felt I deserved a wee treat. I usually end up putting the small change in my purse into PAD/sealed pot anyway. Seem to be really skint really fast this month. Think it is because there was about a month between payday and the end of May :rotfl:

Should be a £1.30 PAD today. TC day today. I have a new plan for this but not sure if it will work until the end of the month so I will talk about it then.

Have a good day everyone :)

Awwww thats so nice of your mum to give you the £35. God if my mum behaved in that way, she would owe me thousands by now for the amounts she has bailed my sister out with :rotfl:!!

26 days til payday :rotfl: are you counting down already?! Mines 3 weeks on Friday so 23 days til mine. We get paid on 24th this month as the 26th is a Sunday.

Ooohhhh looking forward to hearing your new plan...

My mum has always been like that mummy. She has never really had to bail out me or my sis bigtime, just little things here and there and in the past when she has helped me I have paid her back (we are talking £50 for shopping right before payday). She is a lovely mum :) (just to clarify, she would still be a lovely mum without the money).

Our payday is the 28th of the month. I do the salaries though (we still get paid by cheque) so I usually pay myself a couple of days early. I was counting down to payday but see the next paragraph!

Looked at online banking today and £304.90 has been paid into my account! :j I sent back my tax credit renewal form and I knew that last year I had spoken to a man about my salary for the year. He had told me to estimate what it would be and I guessed a figure. I knew it would't be far off. It was almost £500 pounds off so I am guessing that they have calculated what I should have got in tax credits for the year and now paid me it. Something like this happens every year so I am very confident that is what this money is. Just to be on the safe side, I don't intend to move it for a few days but I know it will be right! I was expecting it. I have a wedding, a hen night, a first birthday party, father's day and Gap-Sis's birthday this month so I can now breathe a bit easier :D

£1.30 to sealed pot today. Little Miss wasn't feeling well last night and we got to bed quite late. We were both exhausted this morning so I decided to keep her off today. I am the kind of parent who believes that if my child is ill, the school will send her home so she usually goes no matter what is wrong with her but this morning I was struggling too so I decided it would be better if we just stayed in today. Also, I am one of these people who is never off work sick so for me to be off there has to be a really good reason.

Right, need to go make lunch now. Little Miss is feeling a lot better and is moaning that she is hungry. Back to school tomorrow me thinks! ;)

    Have a great day everyone.

  • Sorry to hear that peeps in your house have been under the weather, it's horrid being poorly and then having little ones poorly too. DD always goes to school normally, she is rarely sicky, she gets lots of colds and normally I just dose her up with calpol and send her in. We are quite lucky that she loves to go to school. She gets bored at home on her own :o She has been driving me mad this week, she is bored stiff. I have just remember today that when she broke up before we went to Menorca the teacher gave us some homework and we haven't even started it yet. I think we are going to have to do some serious studying over the weekend (it does annoy me though, she is 6 for christ's sake, she should be running round enjoying herself not doing homework)!

My pay varies as I am self employed, and my pay date changes too, but this month is going to be low because of having one week and one day off work :( Still looking forward to payday though as things should start coming down :D Albeit, I will probably be old and grey the minute amount that it actually comes down by :D
    Just keep swimming!
