Hi GAP, dont beat yourself up about having to use the CC. Thing is if you went out you would probably spend way more than if you stay in and entertain. If they bring a bottle you will be sorted!!

Sounds like you have a fab weekend booked in!! Enjoy your pampering!!

Ooohhh so mince and tatties, is that basically cottage pie?! I had that for lunch yesterday :D.

Yes, I enjoy having the girlies round. There are four of us and we take turns. Thankfully, gone are the days of drinking far too much (think 5am and 9 empty wine bottles ) and a couple of bottles suffice now. I am so looking forward to the weekend :) Mince and tatties is pretty much the same as cottage pie only the mince is put on the plate and the potatoes are put beside it on the plate. In our family we mash the potatoes into the mince (I think a lot of people do that). It was actually cottage pie that we had rather than mince and tatties, I don't know why I didn't say that. The laugh is that Little Miss doesn't like mince and tatties so I make cottage pie instead and I can [STRIKE]force[/STRIKE] persuade her to eat it that way :rotfl:

Money news today, after 17 days of non-use I used the cc :( I paid for the weekly shop with it which came to approx. £40 and when I got home I transferred £30 to the cc from the tax credit money so that I only owe it £10. Although I don't have everything for dinner on Friday so I feel another cc usage coming on tomorrow :o However, it won't be much and I am going to have a bigger excess this month than what I had last month and I have been fairly careful this month so I am not worried about it at all. I have money in my purse for lunch on Sunday so everything is relatively in order :T

An unexpected £2.30 to PAD yesterday because Gap-Sis had my car at her flat so met me from my work and gave me a lift down the road and also, had £1 in my purse. £2.60 PAD today as Mr Gap gave me a lift to and from work (thanks Mr Gap :kisses3:)

Little Miss has a violin concert tonight so I am just going to make the tea now. Must dash :D

  • Oh bless, does LM have violin lessons, I used to play violin a few years ago. One of those things in life I wish I had not just stopped playing. I used to play for a large orchestra but when I was younger and influential going out, partying and the pub beckoned rather than playing classical music. I can pick it up 15 years later at the age of 33 but it is very rough round the edges and the fingers don't work as fast as they used to :o Maybe I should practice and then I could go busking and make some money (they might pay me to stop playing!)

I love cottage pie :D I have to admit that I have done quite well out of little packs of £1.00 minced beef that Tescos sell. It is not as healthy as the lean mince but I have been adding the porridge oats and grated carrot etc and it feeds three of us well. I have been mainly making spag Bol as it is one of my favourites :D

Nice to have good friends that you can rely on, I feel like I am missing a trick somewhere as I have a few individual friends but I don't have best friends or a few friends where we can all go out together, I sometimes wish I did have though. I tend to stick to my doglegs, I know where I stand with them and they love me unconditionally no matter what :o
    Just keep swimming!

Itsa, yes, LM gets violin lessons at school. I'm not really sure whether she enjoys it or not. I was forced along to violin lessons when I was her age and when I went to high school I gave up (I had to beg to give up). I have to admit, I don't regret it at all. It was not something I enjoyed. I love miusic and I don't mind listening to LM screeching away on her violin but I really don't want to play it myself. If you want to do it again, just do it. If it is something you enjoy then do it! I am also 33 but my thing is tap dancing :D I gave up that when I was about 15 and I regretted it. I went back to it a couple of years ago for a year and I absolutely loved it but now I struggle to get the time and the babysitters but I won't be ruling it out for the future :) I got the £1 pack of mince too! It said £1.20 on it but on my receipt it said £1. Woo! I absolutely love and adore my friends and I know they feel the same. I don't have many friends but the ones I do have are very precious to me and I trust them completely. My sis is my best friend and LM comes a very close 2nd :p

Thank you for the encouragement mummy! I managed 17 whole days without the cc and on day 18 I had to use it. Used it again today for tomorrow's food (see below) but I am not worried and as I said before, I have money in my purse for Sunday so things are under control (so to speak :rotfl:)

Went to Mr M's today for the rest of the meal for tomorrow. Spent a little more than I would have liked and used the cc but I have a three course meal for 4 people including a bottle of wine. Also, LM managed to con me into getting an extra dessert and some ice poles for her. I have remembered today that I get CB on Tuesday so I will pay the cc off with that and then I won't have to take it off my excess on payday! I know it is supposed to be for LM's benefit but it benefits her when her mummy is happy! I don't do very much and don't go out very much and she loves the girlies so gets quite excited when they are coming round. Also, I will be putting the rest of the CB into my other account for things for her and if there is any left over later in the month I will pay it across to her account.:)

Didn't manage to PAD today :( and probably won't Friday or Saturday :o but will have change from the lunch on Sunday so will put that in!

Got to go and make the tea now. Just baked tatties with cheese and beans tonight. Yum though! ;)

Will catch up with other diaries soon.

Isn't it always the way, it's Grinders' birthday today and I remembered and bought her a card, all chuffed with myself for: a) remembering; b) getting a card and; c) giving it to her on the correct day :T and earlier she came through and said "is everyone okay for lunch?" in other words, lets go out for lunch for my birthday. I didn't even think about that happening. So, all this week I have remembered to bring in lunch and I have not spent a single penny on work food whilst at work and now, today, when I again remembered lunch, I have to waste it and go out instead. Luckily I didn't actually make anything up, I brought two bits of bread and some butter and cheese for toast so not a big wastage but means I have to spend  My plan is to take the money out for Sunday lunch (I over estimated the amount to be on the safe side) and use some of that. The other girls are poor too so it won't be a big, expensive lunch. I will have money left over for Sunday still so it all works out but I just didn't even give a thought to Grinders wanting to go out for her lunch. Oh well, a little bit more exciting than cheese on toast! :)

Spent less than £5 for lunch so 70p to PAD after all and 5p to sealed pot. Had macaroni cheese which I love but it wasn't that nice so not really worth it :( Still, Grinders was happy :p

Looking forward to dinner with the girlies later :j

Mummy we were having viennetta for dessert and I know that if it was me watching my mum buying viennetta for her dinner with her girlies and I was 10 I would really fancy it too. Also, she really loves ice poles and she will have them instead of sweets (not that she eats sweets all the time) so she was delighted! :D

Had a lovely meal with the girlies on Friday night. Everyone was drinking wine for once. Usually there is someone driving so made a change! I only had a couple because I don't drink much but the others managed a few ;)

Had my hair done on Saturday. Had microdermabraision done on Saturday afternoon. I am quite pleased with the results. It isn't as perfect as I thought it would be but it is really good. My skin feels soft and the blemishes look less than what they did before. I just have to remember to look after my skin better than I was before. Had a head, neck and shoulder massage as well (included in the price) and that was good. I'm not so keen on the head massage, my hairdresser is much better at that but the shoulder massage was great! :)

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday with one of my girlies and another girl we were at school with. We got back in touch by complete coincidence at the end of last year. Went out for lunch just before christmas and again yesterday so think we will be making this a regular thing every few months. Had a great time and lunch was delicious.

Off work today as it is a local holiday (?) Gap-sis has taken Little Miss out for the afternoon so I can get some stuff done in the house. Really should be doing that instead of being on here but thought I better catch up. :o

£1 to PAD and 30p to sealed pot. Am now skint until Wednesday (TC day) and get paid on Thursday :j:j

Off to catch up with other diaries :p before I go do some housework :(
