I'm going to follow pinklady21's advice: write to the DWP asking why I'm being assessed now a mere 5 months later; requesting all the paperwork related to my last IB50 etc. and telling them that assessing me now goes against their own March 2011 guidelines.
If they persist I'll see my M.P. at his next surgery and he will contact them. (He's a pretty left of centre Labour M.P. who is opposed to many of the benefit changes)
It was Labour that first put this idea forward...:rotfl:
Also if you do need help from the CAB then ring them as soon as you can as i know in our area some places are turning people away as they can't cope with the workload...0 -

It was the ruling clique of New Labour that first put this forward. They would be a centre right clique, as the ruling clique of the Lib Dems is centre right, and the ruling clique of the Tories is centre right.
There are plenty of back bench Labour MPs who would meet Scared's description and would be willing to go into bat for them - as a left of centre politician.
Back bench MPs seem to be the only people preserving a difference between the three main parties these days.0 -

I like that I really do. The arsonist trying to put the fire out!
CAB in quite a lot of places now will only deal with those eligible for legal aid due to the high demand for their services and lack of funding.0 -

Well one of the biggest problems these days is there is no difference which is why so many people think why bother voting as it's all the same thing...
Anyway i won't start on politics after the last damning budget in March and our own Lib Dem MP hanging himself in that budget i could have a lot to say about them....:rotfl:

Indeed, my M.P. is somewhat of a militant within Labour Politics, but he's also a pretty decent guy who relishes supporting the underdog.
He's helped me with a few things in the past.0 -
On the ESA50 form it's interesting to note the options for answering question 15: Going Out
Please tick this box if you can go out [ ]
Can you leave home and
go out to places you
know if someone goes
with you?
No [ ] Yes [ ] It varies [ ]
Can you leave home on
your own and go to
places you don’t know?
Usually [ ] Not very often [ ] It varies [ ]
So, you are unable to answer NO when asked if you're able to go to places you don't know alone! This is completely unacceptable and is presumably so you are forced to travel to an ATOS medical regardless of whether you can actually get there or not! Unbelievable!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

You can then start filling it in a bit at a time (remembering to save).
When the brown envelope does drop through the door, you get six weeks to send it back. But you can print off the form you have online and attach it to the paper version, and send that back.
Doing it this way means that you already have your head round it, and have time to get any additional information that you might need.
Hope this helps

Daisy, do you have a link to download the ESA50 form?
Thanks.0 -

Well i had to ring ATOS and ask if they had parking near their centre, they answered yes....Unfortuantely they weren't entirely truthful as you weren't allowed to park in their car park you had to park in the multi storey a fair walk away....
When i got there and realised i rang the number as i was very poorly that day and a very helpful lady helped me out and implied it wasn't the first time this had happened (rolleyesmilie) I found out from my charity that they seem to do this so that you have to walk to the assessment centre so that they can say you are able to walk so far...
So they use tricks and techniques so that you don't score highly on points...0 -
