Wouldn't what the complaints procedure tells you to contact be the correct thing to contact, rather than CEO's of parent companies?

Mercedes Kidlington have no procedure in place, Sales man craps in his pants crys to GM, GM acts smarts (above the law) says contract has been aborted.

Is that because you don't have much of a complaint though? They have offered to refund your deposit, but you won't let it rest? And as for taxi well thats down to planning. I wouldn't let myself be in a position even when selling my current car to only be able to travel by taxi Thats also including assuming any car I've put a deposit down on is a forgone conclusion..

    Money_User,

    1) they are in breach of contract as you can see.
    2) I am out of pocket as they are not willing to give me 2 years free service any more as the offer has expired even though i had purchased the car in time for the offer.

    For what its worth.........

Find another M-B dealer, explain the situation and see what they can do for you.

You may be able to get the car you want cheaper, with a bit of haggling.

Personally I would not buy a car from such a incompetent dealer if you paid me!

If they can't even get organised in the the sales department, I would worry about, delivery, servicing, parts etc and would avoid them all together.

    Good Luck

Totally Agree, i want to do the same. the issue is other dealers want to help but the issue is that they cant give the 2 year service as it was mercedes who gave it out. What i will do it, maybe ask simon to offer me the same service when i buy the car from other dealer.

For info, Mercedes-Benz is a division of its parent company Daimler AG so email address is correct.

    Yep I know that.

BUT IT WAS BOUGHT FROM INCHCAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So email address is utterly wrong.

    My thoughts>>>

I can understand your frustration, i would hate this to happen to me only because when you save for ages and the right car falls at your feet after all that hard work saving up only for a something like this to happen it must really pee you off (understandably). It's not just the car, yes Mercs are fairly common but finding the one at the right price, colour ,service history, miles, ETC takes ages.

Now, forgetting taxis and anything else you would like compo for but how much deposit did you put down?

I would walk away from this dealership taking my deposit BUT because of the contract you signed expect that deposit amount in compensation. If you put down £2000 then £2000 in compo.

    Seems fair to me.

Thank you for understanding my situation, i was asked to put down £500.00 and i did. As for compensation they dont even admit it is due. They said they can give good will when i purchase a car off them.

No consideration on the 2 year service as SIR it was something Mercedes offered and NOT us. I am really out of pocket ... Oxford Kidlington refunded me the deposit without even consulting me.....
Just really dont know whats going on....
    :(

I would go for the £500 deposit compo, they would of took your £500 deposit without a seconds thought if you had pulled out.

    GOOD LUCK
