Dinner done and dw loaded, wm on it's last load today.

DD had abit of a rough day (hasn't had one in a while) but she's very moody and tired and emotional so i think she'll be off tomorrow. Plus there is a few things i need to speak to the head about and in fairness she is well on the ball.
DS complaining of having a sore head and looks very pale so he might be off aswell. Both already tucked up in bed..

Plan now is to get Rhys ready for bed and help DS2 with his reading, then supper and there both away to bed.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Time's just flying today. I've cleaned the kitchen sink, drainer, top of the TD and other bits, sorted the water filter and started tea. It's a good job I was going to put DH's fish in later (and he was late getting in the bath) as he'd forgotten he is playing in a bowles match tonight - same for the next two Wednesdays and Thursdays.

I still need to clear the tea things away in the kitchen and I also want to do a bit more flying in there, so most of the worktops are cleared. I'm going to have a break until DS2 is in bed and then see how long I can keep going.

woohoo - Soappie and Pollybear :wave:_party_

Still no sign of Poohbear or Penelope Penguin though?

Mummyoffive has been on facebook today

Thanks for the lists and the support. Trying very hard to keep on top of things, and on week seven of my new job I seem to be coping a bit better.

That said tonight I have emptied and filled the DW, and filled the WM. I have baked some bread rolls (we have nothing for packed lunches) and some banana muffins. Top priority is ironing work/school stuff as the DR looks like a laundry again. It is all clean at least but it wont be for long if I leave it there for cats to sleep on.

Decluttering question (well sort of decluttering)

If you are the only child of only children and have no descendants what do you do with all the paperwork etc. from your late parents and grandparents?

Part of me feels I do not have the right to get rid of it - which another part of me knows is daft as, at some point in the future, someone else will bin it all anyway.

    Daft bint aren't I :o

    museum?
local interest section of your local library? ( - at least ask there, they might know somewhere appropriate.)
    county archive?

Derbyshire county council has an archive with this sort of stuff in.

If any of them were involved in any particular industry or profession maybe there's an archive there.

I am an only child too and Dad is the last of his generation on that side, plus I only have 4 cousins and 2 are not married, so I see what you mean.

How about a family history society from the area your parents cme from, they would love some stuff like marriage certificates and pictures etc. I have been tracing the family tree and some stuff is just not easy to find, these 'strangers' have been good to me, looking for people I had not been able to find.

It just goes to show that when we declutter we should never assume that its all stuff no-body would be interested in.

You're not daft and it made me sad too. If there are no other relatives then what about a local history society/local library I'm sure they would be keen to have it all when the time comes. Could you put it in envelopes for them and leave it in your will?

Dusty's right, bundle it all into an envelope and either bequeath it in you will to the local history society or the Society of Genealogidsts...

You never know when someone will want to look at those things... xxx
