My home is a mess

Hi everyone, Jumping back in. I've done a few small but boring tasks today like washing out the recycling bins, tidying my chest of drawers, darning some socks and stuff like that. It doesn't feel like I've got stuck into any tasks yet this year but never to worry.
We want to go out tonight but I haven't got a clue where to go, I don't fancy the cinema as we're going next week so at a bit of a loose end really. Hope you're all well.0 -
Hiya Messies and welcome coocoo. Luvverly name!
Emms, I'm sure the ham will be fantastic. Don't much like scrambled eggs myself, but I think that egg and potoato wedges go really well with good ham. I'm pleased that you're not allowed to wear scrubs anywhere but in the hospital, annoying though the whole palaver of changing is - though they should give you a decent amount of room for changing! It always alarms me somewhat when I see local chefs (quite a few pubs and hotels round here) out and about in their working clothes. What one earth will they have on their clothes when they're cooking food?
HopefulMS, do take care! Just too much happening to you atm. <hugs>
Donna, thanks for the thoughts. Just had a call from DD2. She's fine, but couldn't phone me last night while her bf was around. Her bf's dad, who's just moved north, has got a huge building job in the pipeline, for someone he and bf have worked for before. It's likely to mean that bf's dad will stay in their house for a month, and DD can't say 'no', but thinks it's going to be too stressful for her to stay there - she really doesn't like the man much. It will bring in so much money towards their mortgage, that bf can't turn it down. Bonus could be that DD will come over here for a while! :j Shopping was fine, and was done remarkably quickly, given all the shops we wanted to visit. Freezer all nicely re-stocked, and we've been re-inspired about meals.
Done nothing today, except sort washing, but will do some drawer tidying/clearing later.
Good to see you again, alec e. I hope you have a good evening, whatever you decide to do.0 -
Hi Messies!
Coocoo - thanks for those wise words.
Donnajt - well done on your bathroom clearance.
Alec E - hope you enjoyed your evening.
Bearcub - difficult one for your DD & her BF, but nice if it means you have her to stay awhile though.
I`m having a CBA day - or at least, a `can`t get started` day. No reason - it`s very cold here, but heating is on and sun shining brightly, the sort of day I`d normally get some inspiration...
Ham was lovely last night, had a nice early evening visit to pub, then supper & early night. Have to nip over to farm shop later, and then to DD`s. Sometime today...0 -

Afternoon Messies.
Lovely tidy bathroom, donna! :T I've realised that I said that bf's dad would be staying for a month; that should have been three months! Of course, DD can't come over here and stay for too long, as she has to work. From the Island to Surrey every day isn't really practical! :rotfl: Bf did say that his dad would go home at weekends, as if that made everything ok. DD's made is very clear that, even if they get along fine together, she's not washing or cooking for the man. She may move in with friends during the week.
Emms, a lazier day when the sun's shining will do you no harm at all. Enjoy it!
The sun's shining here, with no clouds to be seen. It was chilly early on, but it's actually quite mild out atm. Have done a WM load, and sorted my bedside table drawer last night. How much paper can a person fit into such a small drawer? It's a lot tidier now, and I can take items out without pulling others things out at the same time. I'm going to colour my hair later, but I want to clear out another 2 drawers today, under the bed. I know I have rolls of best part used Christmas wrap in there, which aren't likely to get used now. I'll keep a small amount for cat entertainment, but the rest can go. I can't remember what else is in there, apart from embroidery silks and a tin of handmade cards, so it could be 'exciting'.
Oh, forgot to say, Buffy, NINE bags and the loft's still packed?! How does the ceiling stay up?0 -
Bearcub - 3 months sounds daunting...poor lass, she`ll be living for the weekends.
Well, I`ve been to farm shop, been to DD`s, come home & mostly put shopping away.
Not much, but still CBA despite the sunshine (which is now sinking fast!) so will just do the bare basics, ie. make a fire & do supper.
I did take a shopping bag of stuff to DD`s, pass-ons, so that could count as a bit of de-cluttering I suppose. DS is home again, and DGD will be in residence soon for the weekend, but I won`t see much of her as I`ll be at work. Our new hours (8pm finish instead of 9pm) were supposed to start at new year but didn`t, it`s now going to happen near the end of the month. Can`t wait.
Have a good weekend Messies. x0 -

Mind you...evening meal = extortionate rent lol!
Good luck with the hair colouring...I love the smell of hair dye0 -

Did you say SUNSHINE??? Where? its been another dark grey day here in Essex0 -
DD room delayed until this weekend. Decided to clear out our bedroom as its been a dumping ground for all the things that dont belong anywhere else. Iv put out six bags of rubbish and Iv around seven for charity. I got rid of all the clothing that does not fit ,look right or bought and dont like.
Also sorted oh clothes. Bedding that was never used has also been sorted.
Had odds and ends that just cluttered everywhere thrown. Room looks so much better.
Just finished the back yard that the nutty dog has destroyed and next on my list is sorting dd room ready to move into spare room . Iv decided that she will need to stay in our room for now as there are things that can not be stored in the cellar. Thanks for he concern over the freezer but Ill have help and its a modern one so lighter than the old one we had.
Buffy well done on your declutter.
Bearcub I feel for your dd with regards to the future in law.Its stressfull having people stay and doubly so if you dont like them.
Donna bathroom looks lovely.
Emm enjoy the rest you deserve it.0
