Snookey, it sounds like a good job excellently done. As least you can go to bed without going through an assault course, first. What had the dog done to the yard? don't know about the 'future in law' - depends if the bf survives! :rotfl:

We've had a beoootiful day here, donna (sorry), and it actually got dark a bit later. it's all been so depressingly dark day after day. Everywhere is still very wet, though. :( Hair all done - always takes less time than I think it will. Oh yes, DD will stick to that, because 'dad' can always take his stuff home to whoever's waiting for him in his new home. She doesn't like him (1) because of the way he treated his recently become ex-wife (2) because of the way he used to run down her bf. Totally destroyed his self-esteem then, after helping them move into their new home, he told DD how proud he was of his son!

Emms, the project is a 2-storey extension, which will take at least 3 months, and that's if the weather's kind.

Bearcub my yard looks like the great escape with holes everywhere. he has chewed the air vent tube from the drier as it goes on the outside wall, wooden chairs in the yard in bits ,bikes have had the seats and rubber from wheels chewed and bark put down, eaten. Its a good job I love the daft thing.

A youngster, I assume, Snookey? Or one who think he is? And, of course you love him! Btw, I've just realised that I said 'if the bf survives' and that could be taken a couple of ways. I didn't mean the relationship (they've only just moved into their own house), but rather if bf copes with his dad.

I actually got around to vacuuming this afternoon. The cleaner was still in here (the second bedroom), and I fell over it for the umpteenth time, then thought that it would be a lot easier if I just did what I'd intended to do yesterday!

    Hi all,

Thanks for the welcome! Have been feeling a bit under the weather this week so have just about been managing the basics - dishes, couple of loads of washing on and very quick wipe round the kitchen.

Felt better today though and had the day off work so decided to tackle the bedroom - was worse than I thought! Managed to sort most of the drawers and the clothes rail in the wardrobe out and now actually have some space in them again (now have about 3 binbags of clothes that I need to sort out into charity shop/ebay/hold onto into the hopes will fit into them again piles - but they got dumped in the spare room and that can wait until another day :o) Cleared the floors and most of the surfaces of clothes and random junk and got through a lot of the washing pile.

Am feeling quite virtuous - if rather knackered. As long as no one looks at any other room in the house I'm looking good :rotfl:
  • Morning Messies! It`s still pitch black outside, cold and WET - phew, it`s not snowy or icy though! Off to work in a few minutes, but at least I don`t have to de-ice the car.
I did manage to leave the kitchen clear & tidy last night, and LR `flat surfaces` clear, in the hope that DS & DGD won`t trash things today while fending for themselves...
Ham/steamed baby potatoes & cauli tonight, so that`s easy.
Have a good day all. x

MASTER BEDROOM...here I come and I mean business.....
  • Morning everyone!!!! Hope you are all well and have had a good week. Well my house is still a mess but maybe not quite as messy as it was a week ago. The last couple of days though I've been too tired to do anything when I"ve come home from work and although I don't work on friday afternoons I didn't get much done yesterday. I don't know if anyone else has this problem but I can never seem to get much done when the kids are around, probably because they are driving me crazy most of the time!!!! However, they are all at school on wednesday ( weather permitting!!! lol the last time it snowed here DS and DD1's school shut for the week) and I will be at home so will make a real effort to crack on with things then as there will be fewer distractions etc. This weekend however I am just going to try and have a general tidy and clean up. DD1 and DD2 have said they are going to clean their room which will be a minor miracle if they do it and I am going to exert some pressure on DS to clean his room as well because it is disgusting, he is however a teenage boy!!!!

On a money saving front though I have done quite well, I took a packed lunch into work with me for 3 days last week but did have a bit of a lapse on thursday when I bought lunch at work after eating my packed lunch early because I was hungry and yesterday when I bought takeaway for tea because OH didn't want to cook and the kids were refusing to eat my cooking lol!!!! Have also forced myself to use public transport rather than doing my usual trick of getting a taxi home from the station after I've finished work, so its progress of sorts, not as much as I would have liked perhaps but its a start.
loobylou2.Proud to be dealing with my debts and aiming to sort out the mess in 2013!!!!

    Afternoon Messies.

I'm gald to hear that you've managed to make some progress, loubyloo, even if not as much as you'd have liked. Most of us on here are just the same, though. Do you work fulltime? If so, or nearly fulltime, then I'm not surprised that you find it difficult. After DD2 started school, I only worked 15 hours a week which meant that, once they were in their teens, I took on a horse to look after, too. That was fun, even getting dinner on the table on work days.

Donna, I hope the vacuuming has now been doen, and the cleaner is back where it should be ie not in your bedroom. ;)

Emms, it's yet another really awful rainy day here, too, with roads under water again, though not impassable. I've been out to re-fill the bird feeders, and our back lawn and patio are under water. Bracing swim, anyone? :( One of the cats is driving me mad, because she so badly wants to be outside but, once out there, can't find anywhere to go that isn't soaking. Not sure atm whether I'd prefer snow, but definitely don't want ice, with all the hills we have in this area.

Have sorted the dry washing, may change our bedding later. I will tidy out the drawers under the bed today!

    Hi All,

I have been missing in action for so long but do check on you all daily, need to make sure my fellow messies are keeping their homes a little less messy.

Here has been a little chaotic, but need to get on target as only 18 weeks till we get married :j:j:j

Lounge, hall, stairs and landing have all been decorated, so just getting those areas back to normal and only have to then do day to day stuff like dusting, hoovering.

Kitchen and bathrooms have been kept clean, although shower door in the ensuite needs some serious water spot treatment.

Our bedroom has become a dumping ground for anything and everything so have spent this morning decluttering.

    Two bags full for CS
Some bits for Ebay, but with the wedding plans they may just go to the CS
One bag for the bin men

Tons of washing stacked up, but now sorted into piles so just got to get it done and then ironed. I have started to enjoy ironing - someone get the men in white coats please:eek:

Back to the bedroom with a cup of tea to carry on - back later
