My home is a mess

Well done, Buffy, for all that sorting. With all those CS bags, surely the loft must be almost finished? I'm intrigued to know what your plans are for the piggies.
and then we went to the tip with 9 bags of rubbish. The loft looks the same.
I have gone through EVERY conventional cage for the piggies and had huge guilt and sleepless nights over their living arrangements. I am now finally going to build my own - a cubes and correx job. It will still be a little small but it is the best I can do. In the summer they will have a nice big hutch. They will. And the sun will shine.
I am back to work tomorrow, so probably won't be back here till the weekend!
oo I have carpet in my room again and all animals are clean!
Have a good week xxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Morning Messies!
Just had a quick read before going to work - feels like the middle of the night!
CAT - lovely to hear from you again, (((HUGS)))XX
Have a great day folks, whatever you`re up to. XX0 -
Hi all:j
Ppping in to report progress - or lack of it:eek: Just hoping that lack of posts means that everyone is busy de-messying & it's not just me & a few stalwarts that have the mess:D
Have a lovely-lie in till 8.20 - don't feel the benefit yet, well actually feel worse atm! But onwards!! Have been in the room of doom for abt 15 mins, got another couple of bin bags full for the CS. I always joke when the man comes to collect the stuff that they will need to open another branch for our donations, but am beginning to think it's not a joke any more.............however said bin bags are still at top of stairs - asked DH to bring them into front hall, so far they are still cluttering up top of stairs:mad:
Yes, I totally agree, glass houses & stones come to mind when he's babbling on about the mess. There's 3 adults in this house, and no-one else does any domestic work whatsoever. I blame MIL for doing everything for all 3 men in their house, therefore none of them think they have to lift a finger:mad: TBH he is slightly better than he was, but that has taken years to acheive.
I've now spent ages in our bedroom clearing, thinking how nice if someone made a cup of tea. No such luck, went downstairs to make one, to find he is yet again asleep in front of the tv- with notebook in position. Tempted to shove it somewhere!! To be fair, he did walk (5 mins) to paper shop & back today, poor lamb:rotfl:Hi all:j
Just popping in to update - started off oh so well today, another few bags out of room of doom.....but then DH asked for some financial info which when he got - he didn't like & all hell broke loose:mad: And when he's mad he has a go, so I got told off about 'all those papers on the table'. GRR that was the only room I didn't get to yesterday, and would take a few mins to clear - plus the mess was due to me finding the aforesaid financial info for him:eek:. This is from someone who had spent the morning on the sofa watching tv & on the notebook, as ever.....
Anyhow he has got over it now - though no apology forthcoming. And now I'm going to have a bath ....I'll get to some more tomorrow
Think I am married to his twin lol!
Hope today is brighter x0 -

Messies, we just got home from pub, I made a fire, and checked in here - and OH has declared he has something to declare here, to all my Messy Friends...I read him bits of your posts, so he`s not a stranger...
Taking `dictation`...here goes.
"Take heart - to find a house lived in by real people who care about the people who actually LIVE in the house, rather than the carpets/furniture etc, is a privilege beyond some understandings of what a HOME should be about.
I have quarters here for which I am responsible; dont go there, full of dust/books/bits & bobs that represent the accumulation of a lifetime, including a lifetime`s work and interests, involving many different subjects, much of which is ongoing. None of this sense of freedom and progress would be remotely possible were it not for a reasonable mutual capability to understand the difference between `Mess` and a truly `lived in` Home. This makes for a sense of deep appreciation, for without those allowances I would be, or be made to feel like, a trammelled actor in something that serves only the cleanest of carpets, the best of Other People`s expectations of what the "perfect" home should be like. I am therefore keen to encourage those who have `lived in` Homes not to feel discouraged but to realise what a wonderful environment they are providing for those who have the honour of being happy there."
WOW- Messies, he really meant all that. I hope OH `s message is as welcome & helpful to you as it was to me. Bless`im! I`m going to make him a nice supper now - but I`d be doing that anyway.
OH MY LORD - can we all borrow him??? that's lovely0 -
Well I have spent 2 days clearing out DD's bedroom (have taken before and after pics thank god) its been back-breaking and at times I nearly throttled my tweenager at some of the discoveries...yuk! but its done thank god and I have the pics as evidence, if she dares to let it get to that state (she took full advantage while I was in bed with flu over xmas) I am going to shame her on facebook by posting the before pics...the only problem is I now have a room full of stuff downstairs to clear...oh well i guess nothing is life comes without a price lol
I love Approved Foods...but I ordered some Noodles on offer at 2.99 - it said 6kg I think - does anyone have any idea of what 6kg of noodles look like????? its the size of a black bin bag :rotfl::eek::rotfl::eek::rotfl::eek::rotfl:and whats worst is they came in a blue bin bag - any ideas on how or where to store??? its noodles for breakfast, lunch and dinner here until next xmas lol!
Child free day today - DD first day back at Pre-School, am expecting tears...got doctors as 11:50 but cant decide how to spend my day0 -
Morning all!
Hope everyone is well, Happy New Year from the farm!
I'm breaking myself in gently this week, the youngest 2 went back to school yesterday so i had a general pick up & tidy through the house, mopped the kitchen and conservatory floors and sorted the supper. By the time i'd done that it was time to go and pick them up from school.
I am slightly pleased with myself this week though, i sat down on Saturday and meall planned for the next 2 weeks and then did an online grocery shop which was delivered yesterday (hence the mopped floors, don't want the A*da man to see what a pit my house is! haha) so i've got the menu up on the fridge for the next 2 weeks! I find it so much easier when i know what we are going to be eating!
Not sure what i'm doing today yet, i have a feeling that Mr Farmer may require my services in the milking parlour this morning as it's gettin a new coat of paint and i think i may have said i would help!
Hope the weather is better everywhere else today, it's chucking it down and blowing a gale here!
Take care all!!
JxxxIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
Right. I'm back after Christmas. I've been lurking around here far too long. I actually spent a lot of time during the holidays sorting out and putting old office files and garden stuff in storage. The flat looks better and definitely "workable". However I struggle to keep my kitchen tidy. It is so small and dark I find it depressing to work there. I feel ashamed...............................................................................

Dontcha just hate it when you realise you've done that? A flippant, "I'll give you a lift with that if you like" and all of a sudden they've taken you up on it  Me & my big mouth - I could kick myself sometimes :rotfl:
OH was supposed to do one day on the narrowboat this week but gas man has been and is happy for OH to do some of the legwork so he's got to spend all week on the house instead. As a reward for getting me my gas hob by thursday (:j) I somehow found myself saying I'd go down to the boat and help him on Saturday. Bang goes my plan to have a lazy weekend0 -
Hi all,
Would really like to join in. My house is a complete tip at the momentI hate housework and with working full time, trying to set up my own business, seeing friends, trying to start exercising etc. there is always some excuse not to do the things I should be doing.
Drastically need to do a big declutter and try to get into a better routine - hope this helps!0 -
Welcome Podperson
