My home is a mess

Bearcub, sounds like your carol-singing visit was fun! We had a nice evening at the pub and they`d all gone by the time we got home!
Popperwell I`m just reminding you ...STEW & DUMPLINGS...does sound good, go on, you know you`d love it!
Alec E - you`ve got the tree up already! I`m nowhere near even thinking about it yet, but at least I`ve found the fairy (stashed in DGD`s room) today.
MetalMand, I hope you`ve rested up and feel better - I know that `disappointed at not doing stuff` feeling too well. And a child with lurgy, well! Got one of those here too!
Actually, DGD is a lot better, but still `milking it` - so today, instead of all the other stuiff I wanted to get done, we`ve tackled her room....going at her pace, of course. We have at least found most of her carpet, filled a couple of laundry baskets, and one bin-bag of rubbish!
I`ve also managed to fit in 3 WM loads in between cheering her on/helping/nagging!
OH has tackled the log-shelter, stacked some logs in the old wendy-house to make room for another delivery so have to ring log-man this evening.
I`ve done a bit of freezer tetris too, taken out a YS duck to make a bit of space, and
that`s put a smile on OH`s face.
Still pottering at DGD`s room, this could take till next year at this rate....0 -
Finished the bedrooms today and have started washing carpets so I feel like I had made some headway again today
child still has lurgy though.

Evening messies.
Well done, Metalmand. Considering what's going on, you seem remarkably determined! :T
Dontcha just love youngsters' who 'milk' their poorliness situation, Emms? I bet, being in the work you are, you're good at dealing with it. Certainly sounds like it.
Today, I've cleaned the hob and kitchen work surfaces - much needed. Have loaded up the WM, but have been unable to wash anything, as the drier is covered atm with a duvet cover and a very large bath towel, plus a couple of other smaller items. Still, they should be dry by tomorrow morning.
I've managed to get a number of C cards written, addressed and stamped ready for posting. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, I checked that I had written in one card, before addressing the envelope, only to find that I'd written 'Happy Birthday' in it instead of 'Happy Christmas' :rotfl:, so I had to steam open some others, just in case! Of course, it was the only one. I now have to finish writing the short letters to go in some.
OH has taken down the C tree from the loft, and it's in the lounge, undecorated, for the cats to get used to. I'd really like to get it decoarted before DD2 and bf come over next Friday.0 -
Not got as far as the xmas tree but i have put some too-big-for me dresses on ebay as its free listings today and tomorrow0

Hi messies! Sorry I haven't posted lately. My home is still as much of a mess as always, and likely to be so over Christmas as well, although I might do a blitz on the living room and pretend everywhere else is tidy as well!
I've made my way through some washing today, but still nowhere near catching up - that'll be a Christmas job I probably can get done.
I'm going to make little hampers as gifts this year, with some home made biscuits and things. I hope! I'm also going to attempt my first mince pies and will include those in the hampers if they're nice.

everywhere I look something needs to be tidied or put away or fixed. I have been signed off work for stress for a week and I fully expected to be able to get on with the house work but I am over whelmed. SO much post to sort, clothes to wash. sheets to change books to give away furniture to move around shopping to put away Christmas presents to sort out...... I have let it all go to pot.
any advice?

This was my first post on this thread almost exactly a year ago. (posted on the 5th Dec)
I suppose there have been tidy moments and I know really living in a house with two puppies five piggies and various fish tanks it is hard to keep up with the tidyness, plus of course Mum hasn't gone on holiday and she does like to keep stuff and I am never in the house alone to really get on with stuff with out her worrying etc. So in a very similar position really.
Personally I am happier, got rid of the ex, been dating, been pampering.
Finanicially I am a mess! need to do too many things so am back in debt which is depressing.
Still I am going away next week end with a very sexy man. so it is not all doom and gloom

Hi all
Happy MessyWorld Anniversary Buffy! This thread is so supportive even if we dont always achieve all our goals.
Well to cut a long story short I saw DSs psychologist this week. She gave me a bit of a talking to about how I am trying to take all of DSs emotional problems on my shoulders and its dragging me down. I need to get out there and make my own life and make myself happier. Thats not to say I cant love my son or try and help and support him but I have to take a bit of a step away or I am going to end up being ill myself which is no help to anyone. Very hard but probably very true.
So lots to deal with here and I just cant get myself the slightest bit interested in Christmas. On the messiness front its not too bad, except for our bedroom which is like a disaster zone!
Hi to JPS, Emms, Bearcub and others. Off to put the washing over the airer while the fire is lit and get the electric blanket on ready to sneak off with my book!0 -
How lovely to see Buffy and jps back again! We've missed you. I didn't teach, but I so know how you both feel, about just hanging on by your fingernails. Working in a school does that to you, I think, and you wish your life away, waiting for the end of term to arrive. I hearby declare that all nursing staff, carers and teachers should be rewarded with medals, a pay rise and total respect! :T
YL, I'm so pleased that the psychologist spoke to you like that. It does seem harsh, but it's so true - I've been there. When our DD2 was ill, I coped very well - I thought. Until she left home, still not well, and then I hit a wall. It must be so much harder for you, because your DS is still so young. As you've said before, you've so little life of your own nowadays, but you must make some effort to put that right. Do give it a try, because an interest of your own will make you stronger, it really will. <hugs>0 -
Thanks bearcub, it's funny how a thread becomes "home" isn't it? We miss people posting when they are MIA and miss others' posts when we're not able to read.
I'm out on family duties this afternoon, must nip to the garden centre first for a pressie too.
It's pouring down here, brrr. Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
