My home is a mess

Oh for heaven's sake.
Hoovering the bedroom. Someone left the handsfree kit for his iphone on the floor. Up the hoover it goes. Broken, broken broken. Just ordered him a new one and now hoping that the hoover isn't brokenalso hoping I don't get shouted at.
Not your fault if someone else left their stuff on the floor.
I would also love chips for tea. I've been thinking about chips since the weekend when we passed my favourite chippery in Clitheroe as we walked past to eat somewhere else... As it is we're having something to do with quinoa, which isn't as grim as it sounds :rotfl:0 -

Oh dear, but it's his fault for leaving it there, MM. I hope you don't get the blame.
Donna, I remember those tantrum days all too well, although they were long ago, since my DDs are 32 and 29 now. DD2 was the worse by far, and was pretty bad in her teens. I'm glad to say that we're both very close now, but there were times .....
I had intended to do some serious card-making tonight, but have to go to a meeting at short notice. That means we won't get our seafood risotto for dinner, either, because there just wont be time.Ho hum, so much for forward planning.

for me it is the-opposite-of-shiny thing syndromeWhen I'm midway through one task, I walk into another room to put something away or fetch something and realise just what a grim state that room is in and make a start on fixing that instead of finishing job no.1 (or 2 or 7 or 25!)
No demessying for me now. Home for dinner then off to M-i-L's tonight. 2 days of trying to stop world war 3 then 4 hours on the motorway home listening to OH moan about his mother. Laundry and demessying on Sunday will actually be idyllic in comparison :rotfl:
Oh, and MM - of course it is your fault. Didn't you realise that you were supposed to pick up after him before attempting to clean up and make YOUR home nice. Oh, wait, perhaps that's just in our house :mad:0 -

Say a prayer for me - I have DD 12 (almost 13 already turning into tweenager monster) and DS 3 (lovely tantrums) in between tweenager and tantrum they are beautiful loving children
Both DD and DH suffer with shiny new-thing syndrome, they want something so bad and once they have it it loses its shine! drives me nuts!
Finished the upstairs its sparkling, took kids out for bowling for an hour, we are just about to sit and watch Spiderman 3 (DS is Spiderman obsessed!)0 -
Oh, donna, how on earth do you cope with both? One level of strop is bad enough.0

Hi, Can I join you?
I have a one year old, and work from home so as soon as she goes to bed I am straight into the office working and just have clutter spilling out from every angle. My office being the worst affected closely followed by the utility room and garage you can hardly get into then drawers full of clutter everywhere else!
Trying to tackle it a tiny bit at a time and do bits every day but it makes me feel so stressed when everywhere looks such a mess all the time! Plus I am pregnant so severely lacking in energy after a day with a one year old and work.
Any tips are much appreciated!0 -

DD was being her lovely stroppy self, just saying "no" to everything I asked her tonight - she even said "no I am not your slave"....so I told her I am offiically on strike for 24 hours of being her mum and that everything she asks me I will be replying no, she got so fed up of me not being at her beck and call she went to bed at 8pm...now why didn't I think of this years ago???:rotfl:0 -

HI Mrs Hoppy - I have only just found this lovely group, they are so welcoming and fun
I would say pick one room (the utility and garage aren't on view are they?) so I would close the doors from visitors eyes and concentrate on your office, as its an area that you spend lots of your time, get three bags, boxes, piles - keep - donate - bin, and go from there - be ruthless, if you are unsure put it in a box label and store it in the garage, if you don't need it within 6 months, bin in!
Good luck - there is a decluttering thread as well - it works I have already decluttered 82 items since 1st November0 -
Very clever, donna. :T And, yes, I eat chocolate, too, although, being of 'that' sort of age and stage in life, I try not to overdo it. I've never been overweight in my life, though I came very close to it a couple of years ago. I don't intend to give in to it now. It has nothing whatsoever to do with health, but everything to do with pure vanity! :rotfl:
Oops, missed a couple of posts. Welcome Mrs Hoppy. I'd recommend 'baby steps' but maybe they're not the ideal words to use for you atm.
And hello, FW! I really don't kow how you farmers' wives fit everything in; bit like Emms and her nursing and family commitments. A list, hmm? I'm impressed.0
