Star on the left, Garfield on the right. Apparently, they're both 11 months old, but Garfield's big already (and heavy!), so I think he's going to be HUGE when he's fully grown. Star is a very dainty female.0 -
wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww - lucky you........................
you gonna catch up with me?
4 cats and a dog0 -
No, no chance, GR. We have 2 guinea pigs at home but, more importantly, we have two horses about 3 miles away. Horses aren't exactly a cheap hobby, and they're fairly time-consuming. When we moved here 7 years ago, we did plan to get ourselves a dog (neither of us have ever had one, even as children), once Gilly (our previous cat) died. She was too old and deaf to expect her to cope with a dog in such a small house - no upstairs to get away. We talked at length about getting a dog, but decided not to in the end, for lots of reasons.0

Hi messies
A washout of a day. Haven't got anything done apart from making tea, and DD1 just had a major tantrum accusing us all of constantly bullying her, culminating in her smashing a big candle-holder plate thing and locking herself in the bathroom.
Trying to stay calm - successfully so far.....
Got some washing to take out the machine and a couple of things which have to be ironed but apart from that I'm not going to do anything.
Hugs all xxx0 -
Oh gawd I am so tired. Was up early to get DS2 on the bus for the school. All went well except the second bus that he was supposed to catch (and I have paid for a permit on) was full and the driver helpfully told him he would just have to wait for another. On his first day at secondary school. Oh and the driver let some older kids on and made my 11 yo wait for another bus. Thankfully he got there in the end.
Been busy doing some paperwork for my voluntary job, had a bit of a tidy and hoover, went into town to do some jobs, took the dog for a walk and just been helping DS with his homework. Home tutor coming tomorrow which is a good incentive to make things presentable!
Count to 10 Cat - or maybe 100?
Oh and thanks to all your encouragement I have agreed to go back to work 1 day a week working from home. Just hoping I dont end up worse off financially but it should be OK.
Off to take the dog for a final leg stretch and then get my jim jams on I think!0 -

Hi all,
busy day here today, got the girls sorted and taken to school, came home and put 2 loads of washing out to dry (lovely day here!), sorted the stew for supper and popped it into the oven to slow-cook. Made myself do the ironing  it's my least favourite thing! And i even managed to put the ironing away upstairs - that doesn't happen very often!
I popped down to the vets to see what i'll be doing at work tomorrow, the other receptionists were really really nice and very helpful so i feel more confident about being by myself behind the desk tomorrow!
Girls collected from school, farm jobs done, supper eaten, dishes done, girls in bed, sat down for a quick sew and now gonna have a cuppa before i go to bed!
Bearcub - the cats are gorgeous!! I love Garfield he looks huge, he's gonna be a big ginger monster!! haha!!
Night all!
JxIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
It sounds, Cat, as if you're not bullying DD1 but being firm with her, which you've been reluctant to do before now. Good for you, I'd say.
YL, that's very naughty of the bus driver, and not the start your DS would have wanted. I'm glad he got there ok in the end, and I hope he didn't panic.
FW, I'm so pleased that you're more confident about the job, and I hope you really enjoy it tomorrow.
Yes, Emms, the cats are here, and Garfield's very here! :rotfl:
We seem to have picked a mischief, too. Garfield's already making his presence felt.
It looks very interesting out there!
On our bed, watching OH.
Think I like it here!
And making myself comfortable on the basket of ironing.0 -
YL that is shocking behaviour by the bus driver!
Are you going to complain? I hope he enjoyed his first day apart from that. Good luck with the new jobxx
FW - so glad the other staff are nice, makes all the difference! Best of luck tomorrowxx
bearcub, nice photos! xx Yes, it was a reasonable request made to her by DD2 which sparked the incident which quickly escalated.
Still calm, DD1 has vacated the bathroom at last and gone to my bed. Dishes done, washing hung up, time to turn the computer off now, been on it far too long today!
Night all xxx0
