YL, it does sound as if some sort of work would be good for you - some sort of purpose other than 'just' the kids. I hated being an 'at home' mum after the first 7 years or so, and my OH was home by 5.30pm nearly every day. I can understand how lonely you feel at times. Do you have friends you could meet up with occasionally?

Jps, I just hope they all behave themselves tomorrow, so you have a reasonably gentle re-introduction. I take it they're primary school?

The sorting of paper didn't happen because I decided that the house needed vacuuming, and the kitchen and bathroom floors needed washing before the new animals move in. I don't want to get out the vac at the end of the week, and frighten the life out of them before they've settled in. After the floors, I decided that I'd rather colour my hair this afternoon, rather than this evening - by which time OH was home. Hopefully, I'll get some of the paper sorted tomorrow, but I really MUST make OH's birthday card for next week.

    Hi messies :)

Thanks for birthday wishes for DD2, we had a nice meal and I was disciplined, enough to go for the "light bite" menu (okay, I had the most calorific thing on there, also 2 glasses of wine and cheesecake but hey, it's a start :D). Afterwards she went on a bit of a pub crawl then clubbing with her mates, I was quite impressed that I didn't even hear her coming home at 4am :D

Their dad has now gone back home now so back to normal. In demessying.....well, I'm keeping up with the dishes (mostly), have mopped the kitchen floor and am keeping on top of my side of the living room! DD1s half is a lost cause and I'm just going to chill and live with it.

The new WD is great but I'm still getting to grips with it, I keep overdrying things so the iron hasn't been put into retirement yet - sorry Emm!!

Re junk mail - straight in the recyling, no messing about! I'm on the MPS but so much stuff nowadays just goes to every house.

So glad to hear you're getting new cats bearcub :) x

(((hugs))) YL! As I often feel when I read this thread, I wish I was nearby, I'd happily pop round for a cuppa/glass of wine! There really doesn't seem to be any way, at present, of you going out to work, hopefully that will change at some point. Yes the job you've been offered would tie you to the house, but it's only one day and as you're quite tied anyway.....besides, it would only be for as long as YOU want it. Best of luck whatever you decide to do! :) x

    Gilly, get well soon!! x

Buffy don't despair! You ARE making progress! I liked the link :D I love those type of sites - just reading them, mind!!

Was nice weather here earlier today, a bit cloudy but very warm and pleasant. However for the last few hours it's been awful, pouring with rain and the wind picking up again.

I may have plans for next May! One of my old school friends, who works for CLIC Sergeant, posted on FB earlier that she was walking to West Highland Way to raise funds, and did anyone want to join her. Well I've ALWAYS hankered to do one of the Long Distance Footpaths so I registered my interest and she's going to send me the details! I'm SUPER excited and hope it comes off!!!!

    Evening Messies.

GR, our elderly cat was pts a couple of weeks ago, and we've been planning to get one or two more, but had to get our LR carpet cleaned first. Since that was done on Friday, there was not a lot to stop us going out and looking for more. So, we now have two 11 month old cats reserved for us, to be collected this week, subject to our home being approved tomorrow morning.

    Sorry about your cat :(

Oh dear.... and here I was hoping you will take Macius and Fred off me..... sigh.... ;)
  • Wow it's late for me to be posting!

I have done nothing in the house at all today. OH put some washing on before I woke up.

It was such a hot sunny day here so made the most of living 30 mins from the seaside, so took Mia for her first day out, although I don't think she knew much about it lol. But it was a good excuse for sausage and chips for lunch then a massive ice cream!

Hello Cat! I thought you'd gorn off and left us. Well done for choosing the light bite menu, and even more well done for sleeping so well you didn't hear your DD come home! It sounds that you haven't totally got behind with de-messying, so that's ok, too. Good to see you.

Thanks, GD. It was sad at the time, but she was old and she was poorly, but now we're able to give two dumped cats a home, even if we had intended to get two older ones. Sorry, didn't realise that you had two that were going cheap! ;)

Gillybean, how wonderful to be able to take Mia out on such a lovely day, and to the seaside, too. I take it you haven't bought a bucket and spade for her just yet? :)

Think it's going to be a fairly early night for me tonight. My sleep's all over the place atm - one night, I sleep ok, the next, I sleep in fits and starts. Don't know what's going on.

Cheap? You kidding...... I will pay someone to take them 2...

One (Fred) hate sgoing out, guards the fridge instead.
Other (Macius) throws himself at the door to be let out all the time.

Will throw cat food/litter in with them... think, think...LOL

Thanks bearcub - no hope of getting rid of me, I'll always be a messy! :D Sorry to hear about your sleep problems. Do you know what is waking you up? Are you worrying a lot at the moment? My sleep's a bit rubbish just now but that's self inflicted (blinkin' tennis! - another all nighter tonight to watch Murray) but apart from that I'm sleeping ok. I've had a lot of problems in the past though, waking up at every little thing in a dream - not even scary bits.

Gillybean sounds like a lovely day with little Mia! :) Glad to hear you did no housework and instead made the most of the nice weather :)

nice photos again GR :) LOL at the last one!! :D

I'm listening to the rain battering down and the wind howling right now, it's very strange! Just finished the day's dishes and cleaned the worktops, should really find something else productive to do before the tennis but I can't think of anything that appeals, especially as DD1 sleeping in my room so I can't go in there (like I haven't had all day to do that! :D). So I'll just keep wittering on on here!:o

I only done the litter boxes, bit of washing up and swept the floors.. that is it for today...

Took the dog out for a bit and ended up walking for nearly 2 hours.. meet one friend with her GS and then another with chuwawa (however one spells it LOL) and time just flew

My poor girl was in a cage for 6 weeks folliwng her hip replacement and then on very limited on lead wolks for another 6 weeks- she deserves good run when mum gets home ;)

Sod the cleaning.. can wait hehehe ;)
  • thanks guys, I am shattered. The shed has been emptied and refilled, my room has been emptied and moved round.

In total I have given 7 bags to charity, plus one in the car, 4 bags of rubbish in the bin tonight.

Room is a bit like plastic box central. but that is what happens really when you try to fit so much into a standard bedroom (and shed!). Must save for a deposit.

And pets are clean. floor (there is sight of one now!) has been hoovered and I have to put my clean sheets on my bed.

I came downstairs for a quick watch of Sinbad......oo I love that man!

Once I have done my little list at the weekend it won't be too bad I don't think.

I do need to change my behaviour tho.

I can't keep doing this to myself. at one point today I just thought I wonder if I could just get in my car and drive off!!

    makes me so miserable!

any how enough of that, good bye Summer :) see you next year and hello !!!!!! autumn term and we shall see how that pans out

take care all and have a good week

    Love Buffy

    xxx
