I'm support staff as well bearcub, although I'm a qualified teacher - I had some illness in the family and took up learning support work so that I'd have more time - there are other reasons too but I decided to stay working in support as that's the job I enjoyed more than any other I've done.
Are you getting the puddies tomorrow? Hope it goes well if so!
Edit: just been reading a bit more and about friends... well most people think everyone has more friends than they do - it's one of those things! I have very very few real friends, and I am happy to be alone (alone doesn't necessarily mean lonely!) - just as you say Cat, the real friends are the ones who accept us for who we are and how we are.
I get a lot out of being able to share with you guys as well. Thank goodness for t'interweb, eh?I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Evening all
Another hot sunny day here today, so got a load of washing done, dried and put away.
Have cleared out my clothes and have nearly 3 black bags for the charity shop, everything is now back in the wardrobes after we moved them.
I've cleaned the en suite to an inch of its life and have made a start on the bedroom.
We also went out this morning and did the grocery shopping and bought a few other bits and some spring bulbs.
I cooked tea for the first time in months too
Knackered now lol0 -
Learning support is almost teaching, Jps, I always think. I know a lady who's a teaching assistant in a primary school, and another in a local secondary school, and I tip my virtual hat to you all, and teachers, too, of course. I was a science techie - great fun for most of my 12 years there, until the Head was busy looking after another school, and ours started to fall to pieces as far as discipline was concerned. When one of my colleagues nearly got hit by a chemical bottle (full of just water by then) thrown round a lab door by a pupil, and when another pupil opened all the gas taps in a lab over lunchtime, I decided, much to my DDs' relief, it was time to leave.
As far as friends are concerned, my best friend is OH (doesn't that sound syrupy?), but I have two very close female friends - one I knew from Surrey who moved here 5 years before we did, and another I met here via the horses. Plus, I've made friends through the local churches. In fact, I've made more good friends since we moved to the island 7 years ago than I ever had in 50+ years in Surrey. It must be the country way, but people seem to have a lot more time for others here. BUT I do enjoy my own company, and love the fact that OH goes out for a while every afternoon to see to the horses.
Yes, we pick up the puddies at lunchtime. I'm SO excited - about time I grew up, maybe. :rotfl:0 -
Do not forget to post photosssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Off to bed, wanted to go to be earlier but 3 cats came back when called and the last one my ginger boy decided to play hide and seek with me...
Went down 4 times before I managed to get him.....
Communal garden, 1st floor flat, intercom/fob key entry from the front and the garden so leaving him outside not an option - too many foxes around too...
Now, all 4 cats and dog at home, fed/watered/walked/toilets cleaned.. so time for ME...LOL
nite nite
(yes, mess everywhere BUT ... do not care/have energy - has to wait till the weekend)0 -

Went out to darts tonight, decided I was going stir crazy at home. Was lovely to see the girls again, but also nice to be home earlier than usual
Now praying for the rain to go off at Flushing Meadow so there will be some tennis tonight!0 -
Evening, so much for trying to get here earlier. Our interweb has been playing up for the last few days, sorry if I have missed things.
Good luck to all of you going back to school or starting for the 1st time both staff and parents of the children.
My little chap has just been offered a place at the local theatre's drama group, they have even offered a bursary to pay the costs, I feel very proud, I'm not sure yet if he is going to except it, as he is lacking in confidence about performing in front of groups of people, he didn't apply but he did a short spell at one of their outreach groups and is how he came to their attention.
Over the last few days we have continued with the decorating, it is going to take some time as the room is large, we are starting with bare plaster walls, and most of the woodwork only has primer on and the windows still needed caulking. OH has also diverted the decorating to the computer room temporally to concentrate on the window in there so we can then put up the blinds and curtains, which makes sense to me as we are using the computer room and it would be good to keep the cold out.
We seem to have been constantly doing the DW hokey cokey. We finished cutting the grass, maintained the order in the hall, started autumn cleaning (bit like spring cleaning just happens at a different time of year) our bedroom, spent a day doing the admin for a local youth group, dried all wash loads on the line, all laundry put away, WM set to run over night, BM set, porridge soaking.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Hi
I'm back, sorry haven't the time to read back and catch up - too many pages. I'm off to work soon, no time now to do much, one wash on the line, hope it doesn't rain. Cases spilling contents in the hall and bathroom will have to be my priority, also need to put the hoover round.
Catch up later.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

Afternoon messies.
Good to see you again, procrastinator. Isn't it horrible how you spend ages getting together clothes etc for a holiday, enjoy your time away, then have to do the clothes thing all over again? We solved the problem by moving to the sea and countryside. Mind you, we also retired!
Cat, I was joking about growing up - I have absolutely no intention of doing so. My DDs would be disgusted with me if I did. I'm glad you had a good evening out - it'll do you the world of good.
BB, such good news about your DS! I hope he's brave enough to take up the offer because, if nothing else, it'll give him a really worthwhile hobby as he's growing up. If it goes beyond that, then it won't have been wasted. I love the idea of DW hokey cokey. :rotfl:
We have the cats, just have to find them!Seriously, the more nervous one (Star) is hiding under the sofa bed in this room, while the bolder one (Garfield) is behind the sofa in the lounge, thinking about it all. Garfield came in, had a good look round the kitchen, jumped up on the work surface, walked into the lounge, where he jumped up on the window sill, then casually ambled behind the sofa. We're just leaving them to it, and carrying on as usual - apart from not leaving the outer doors open.
Can't see any de-messying happening today.0 -
Photos of the cats????????
Whenever they decide to come out from their hiding place LOL0 -
Hang on, GR, I'll post the one I took at the CPL centre.0
