Hi GR. I thought you'd said yesterday that you were back to work today. Can you take a day off at short notice? Sounds as if you had a productive day, though - which is more than I have.

Bearcub - spoke to my boss at 7am and arranged a day off.
TBH hinted about it on Friday that may ask so it was ok.

And normally yes, can take a day off at short notice that is why I do not really want to go back to what I was doing before - have been a trainer (clinical systems, hr systems, ms office etc etc) for 10 years but that ties you up to a schedule of classes, on2ones etc and I need a bit more flexibility so this job suits me better.

I had a kidney and adrenal gland removed in April this year (cancer) and was back at work 2 weeks after my op. I was also diagnosed with sleep apnea last year so feel like a zoombie most of the time anyway (on my second CPAP macvhine and 3rd mask - nothing seems to suit me well) - taking things slowly really.

Yes, had a pretty productive day.. considering :)

Having something really serious like that puts things into perspective, doesn't it, GR? In the scheme of things, de-messying is somewhat irrelevant, until it really starts to impinge on your state of mind.

Messy around me really does my head in, I do not function well with clutter (have minimum) and mess (with 4 cats and a dog have a lot) but sometimes... getting up before 6 am, leaving home at 7 am and getting back around 6:30 then taking care of the zoo here (food/water/litter trays/walk).. things get on top of me.

But would never ever be without my hairy lot - despite what they cost me (both finacially and time-wise).

So really glad I found this thread - fantastic motivation and support :)

    Thanks everyone...

Evening, sorry I haven't read how today has been going for everyone so apologies if I've missed anything important.

Yesterday hardly did anything here as we went to the in laws for the day :D

Today I have tried to keep up the momentum I started last week.
DW on this morning and 2nd load set to run overnight.
WM set to run over night
    Fridge cleaned
    some general tidying
    porridge soaking for breakfast
    Kitchen bin emptied
Recycling bin emptied, hoping to find lots more for it tomorrow
Computer room completely tidied and swept, this took a few hours with the children helping, looks a lot better and now it is a room I feel I want to be in.
yet more admin (I have such a back log and one day I will get back on top of the filing, I must waste so much time searching for documents when we need them, it wasn't always like this I used to have accurate and up to date filing and it was so much less stressful)
Hall is being maintained it its current state
Yesterdays bags unpacked and put away
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

OMG - did I scare everyone off?

Morning before work - cleaned litter boxes, took the dog out, sorted the food for the lot.

Evening after work - took the dog out, cleaned litter boxes, sorted the food for the lot, swept all floor.

And I am NOT doing anything else.....

Bath, book, bed - let it be messy.. Weekdays I am half dead....

    Apologises to all LOL
  • Hi everyone!

It's been quiet on here today??? I'm guessing that you've all been soooo busy de-messying that you haven't had time to post?? :rotfl:

I've done naff all today. Went to the auction to buy some cows then whizzed the girls off to get school shoes which is usually a nightmare but we got sorted in the 1st shop! Woop woop!! Usually it takes at least 2 trips to get them both sorted!!

More importantly i've had news about my new job!!! I'm going in on Friday afternoon for 'training'!! I can't wait!!

Meanwhile the house is getting more and more untidy and i've now started telling myself that i'll get it sorted 'when the kids get back to school' - as if that's going to happen!! haha!!

    It's a farmers life for me......:j
