My home is a mess

Bearcub - DD1 is doing Event Management at college, it looks really interesting and hopefully she'll pick up some of the skills your DD2 has! They have to do quite a bit of "work" though, during the first block she'll be working in the cafeteria 4 mornings a week, this will be quite a culture shock:D
I knew someone else who was doing that, but can't remember who atm, Cat. They're very useful and transferrable skills - DD2 often stands in for the restaurant manager when he has a day off, is ill, or on holiday. At various times, she trains new and temp staff, waits at tables (occasionally silver service), works at reception (which is what she was taken on for originally), serves at the bar, helps with the housekeeping. The only problem is that she has to have three different uniforms in the car! :rotfl:
Last night, I had a good clear out of all the paper that had accumulated on and around the computer desk. Most of that paper has now gone into recycling. Why had I kept it all?? The rest has been filed in its proper place. Washing is almost dry outside, despite the very muggy weather today, and I've re-edged part of the lawn in the back garden, and forked over the flower beds.Emm-in-a-pickle wrote: »I`ve taken down the failed sticky fly-pads and put up a good old-fashioned fly-paper.
Can anyone explain WHY OH`s head is more attracted to it than the flies are???

I've run out of steam and everything is a horrrrrrrrrrrrible mess! I'm at the "why did I start this?" stage now - it seems much, much worse than when I started. I know it can't be really but it feels like it, when the carp is all out and strewn around while you try to decide what to do about it.
I'm going to have an early tea and see how I feel later on, maybe I will get a second wind.
There's always tomorrow!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Sadly, Jps, the reality is that any mess always gets worse before it gets better. It's well-quoted physics law, did you not know?0

I know but does it have to get THIS bad? It doesn't seem to be getting any better and it's spreading to the whole house to boot.
I'm beginning to realise just how clever I am at squirreling carp away and pretending it doesn't existNow I'm forcing myself to acknowledge it, it overwhelms me.
Now I've overeaten as wellI think in panic at how much there is to do. OK I'm going to calm down and attack it again later or tomorrow.

((((HUGS)))) jpscloud been there got the t-shirt. Just chuck it into bin bags and off to the tip you go. Dont stress too much about re-cycling and donating. Donate decent stuff to the charity shop and dump the rest. It gets easier as you go along.0

Not very MSE, oldtractor, nor very kind to the environment. One of our local charity shops willingly takes rags, because the sale of them adds greatly to their income, and so will a lot of others. The best thing is to mix good clothes with stuff you know they can't sell, especially with the bigger charities.
Keep going, jps, you WILL get there! Just make sure you keep your ebd free, cos you're going to need it, I'm sure!0 -
Hi everyone!
Just got back from the kids tennis lessons, glorious weather to sit out on the sea-front courts for 2 hours this afternoon considering it was tipping down this morning! I prepped the supper before we left so i'm just boiling the potatoes to make mash and then we can eat! (smug & organised for a change!! haha)
Got home to find that mr farmer has been washing our touring caravan ready for it to be put up for salewe haven't used it at all this year as the weather meant that the crops couldn't be brought in when we wanted so we had to stay at home, usually we get away for a few weekends in the summer hols but not this time! So we have decided to sell it instead of storing it over winter! Plus, we could do with the money!
No tidying done today at all, had to help castrate some bulls this morning (ouch!) and then rushed to get dinner made before going to tennis. I'm hoping to tidy the kitchen later while watching xfactor!
Bearcub, you have been busy!! Hope you are well!! xxIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
Hugs back atcha oldtractor, thank you
I have chucked quite a bit, but I had to go through a lot of paperwork to make sure I shredded what needed to be shredded - it was much harder to do than I thought it would be and I think it got to me emotionally.
Well that's all done now, but it doesn't look any better up there!
I might do a bit more tonight, maybe sort some of the clothes etc. out. Just have to keep my bedroom clear so that at least I have one room that isn't a nightmare!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

My thoughts exactly! I keep my bedroom clear (or at least move the carp back out of it for the night) so at least that is a haven for me.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
