    Afternoon Messies.

I think it's wonderful that you have a sister you get on so well with, FW, especially one who you've not been brought up with. :) I hope the scan shows lots of calves!

Weather here can't make its mind - one minute the sky's black, then we ahve blue sky and sun. Have done a little bit of gardening and, when OH goes out later, I'll do some cleaning in the kitchen - the cupboard doors are really grubby.
  • Hi Messies. I just had a quick read, just a very quick post now to say ((HUGS)) to all, and I`ll try to catch up properly soon - I do miss dropping in here already. Today was a `half-day` ( the only decent shift this week!) that looked good on paper but I`ve had to queue at Mr S for petrol (I went in on fumes this am!!) then shopping, now feel dehydrated, sticky, & stinky. Patients are lovely, but the ward is mad! I`m up at 6 again tomorrow, so an easy supper & early night.. think I`ll be asleep before dark!
    More ((HUGS))xx

Oh, Emms, we miss you, too. Take it as easy as you can, although that's not at all easy in your job. <hugs>

Praying for lovely quiet shifts for you Emm!

Hugs all round, I'm a bit tired after a day doing elderly parent duties, but all's good in cloudyland.

    Hi everyone

FW, thats a nice story about your sister. Glad you are getting on so well.

Faith, sorry to hear things are so tough for you. I wish there was something helpful to say but hugs anyway.

Emm, work sounds as hectic as ever! Take care of yourself.

Well I have persuaded OH to have today and tomorrow off work. I said that as we arent going away on holiday we could have a little holiday at home. So we went to the beach this afternoon with the dog and the kids. It wasnt too busy but there is only a fairly small stretch of beach where dogs are allowed and our dog went into meltdown and started barking like crazy at every dog he saw. Wasnt quite the relaxing day we had planned!!

Very sleepy now, the house is very quiet, DS and OH are watching cricket - how boring is that?

Good luck for tomorrow Tata x

It's a wonder how anyone kept older houses going. I feel like the place is going to fall down on me! In particular, my bedroom is a little bit damp. Anyone any thoughts on how to improve this?

Hi, if you have a old house - do you have a chimney breast in your bedroom? Has the fireplace been boarded up? If it has and a ventilation panel hasn't been put in then that can cause damp.

At least you had a day doing something different, YL. Hopefully, tomorrow will be more peaceful. And, yes, much as I like a lot of sport, I find cricket deadly boring, especially test cricket.

    Hi all

Thanks for the good wishes. I've been up and pottering. Today hasn't been great because DD has not done as well as hoped in her AS (lower sixth) exams. She was terrified in case she had to resit Year 12 (social humiliation), while my worst-case scenario was that she'd scrape into Year 13 with disastrous grades-and that's pretty much what happened.

I feel so powerless, and so guilty. Stupid, because only she can do this. Kids, eh? :(

  • Calluna, nope, the chimney breast isn't anywhere near our bedroom. Going to have to get a dehumidifier I thinks!

Studying for the interview atm.. Thanks peeps for all the well wishes.
I think it's always harder when you really really want something! If I get it, it may involve a move but fingers crossed I will get a position closer to home

No cleaning done today, had a driving lesson followed by 8 hour shift at work  My driving isn't as bad as I thought though, some serious practising required though!

Had a very un-MSE day today, time to get back on the bandwagon tomoro I think!
