It's a wonder how anyone kept older houses going. I feel like the place is going to fall down on me! In particular, my bedroom is a little bit damp. Anyone any thoughts on how to improve this?
I bought a portable dehumidifier for my house as it feels a bit damp and I have a lot of condensation problems...it really helps0 -
Forgot to add, when b&q had the garden table & chair set down to £40 a few weeks ago we got one. We only need the table and parasol, so the chairs have been sitting in a box cluttering my conservatory.
I stuck an ad on Facebo@k tonight to sell the 4 chairs for £20. A lady replied right away and wants them so hopefully they'll be gone tomorrow and one huge cardboard box will be gone from my conservatory :T0 -

Hi Cat501
Going to Goa but the thing is I need to clear so I can find the things I need to pack and whilst I'm away (leave Tuesday!!!) an important relative is coming to stay. I need to find space to put stuff that is currently on the floor, on bed, the drawers basically I live in a complete mess with no idea how to fix it. I suppose the focus on packing is my way of procrastinating, but I have put on too much weight and nothing fits, so needed new stuff hence the shopping...and breathe.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

Spent today in bed.
Yesterday was almost wholly unproductive, as I was dripping in sweat within moments of starting anything, and was really uncomfortable with stomach pains.
The pain intensified towards impossible-to-sleep levels by bedtime, culminating in being sick several times towards dawn.
So...I've been a bit useless today. Drifting in and out of sleep with all the windows open to catch every bit of breeze. And the slice of bread and butter I've just forced myself to eat (I can't take my tablets on an empty stomach) is lying on my stomach as if I've just gorged on lead. Bleah.
So very sorry about your cat, Bearcub. Thinking of you xxximport this0 -

Hope you're feeling better today Laurel.
I second the vote for a dehumidifier. We bought one a couple of years ago when we had the bad winter and it was a problem to get laundry dry, it's great for that and we got rid of the condensation issue we'd been having. Well worth the expense imo.
I continue to sing the praises of the rabbit pen. The living area is so much tidier. There is some hay but that's my doing. I probably have an extra 30 minutes a day now I'm not having to do a big sweep on a daily basis.
After my massive declutter in the spring I had very few clothes left so we went out yesterday to buy a few key things as I had no summer clothing and was melting! Bought half a dozen things and feel like I have a whole new wardrobe. It's amazing when you can see what you have and not have all those memories hanging up in the cupboard!
Have a good day everyone. Nice and windy today so there's laundry drying outside and we might try to make a bit more headway in the garden - the last big mess!0 -
Hi all
Sorry I haven't been around for a bit to share in all your trials, truibulations & celebrations.
Having a really tough time atm and really worried that my depression may be making a come back so trying really hard to deal with this.
OH has his leaving date the 28th AugHe is not allowed any time off before this so I won't even get to spend some time with him before he goes. At first it will be for 8 weeks if he likes it he can apply for the manager position. If he gets that then it will be a perm move for him.
To add insult to injury it has been desided that the dogs will be better off with him. So not only losing OH losing them too so I'm am absolutley guttedFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
Faith I don't know what to say... what a shame for you, and no wonder you're feeling down. I hope things work out so that you don't have to be apart so much. Sending virtual hugs your way.
Very warm windy and rainy here today. I have a routine hosp appointment in a bit, I feel very fatigued today too.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
