Oh dear, we all seem to be having a hard time at the moment don't we. There isn't really anything wrong here but I am definitely feeling out of sorts - I think its best described as it feels like I've lost my mojo! I need something to snap me out of it but instead I'm wandering round in a bit of a daze.

OH has gone away for a couple of weeks. It sounds terrible but I've been really looking forward to having a bit of time for myself at home. Had all sorts of plans to be all efficient and healthy and get lots of de-messying and exercise done. Instead, all I've done is veg on the sofa. Haven't even got the motivation to get myself a glass of wine.

As of tomorrow, I need you all to give me a kick up the backside and get me moving again.

((hugs)) to those that need em - too many to mention once again but take em if you need em...

Hugs back atcha sonastin...you maybe needed to have a bit of shut-down time. I need lots of that! Tomorrow is another day, as parkgirl said - I'm hoping for a bit of motivation to get painting and demessying upstairs.

Hi I forgot to mention my cat and mouse saga the other night. I had finally dropped off when I was awoken by deep growling coming from under the bed. Upon looking found one of the cats with a mouse between her paws. I get down on the floor to try and rescue the mouse only for it to nip me.
Mouse runs into a empty tablet box I pick the box up, mouse jumps out,cat catches it, I go to the other side of the bed ,mouse runs towards me and one of the other cats catches it and runs down stairs.
I get back into bed thinking sod it its nipped me once but start feeling guilty and have to go down stairs. Outcome being the mouse escapes down hole.
I did scrub my hands and the skin was not broken thankfully.
    Im nuts I know .

Sending prayers to ,sorry name missing from my sieve like brain, to the person going for job interview.

Cat Im still up for meeting.
  • Hi
Lots of people seem to be having a hard time at the moment, big hugs to all.
Makes me feel bad wittering on about my holiday prep.
I got to the charity shops on Sat and got 4 items, 2 for me, one for DS and one work top. Was very good and resisted all else, enough junk in the house as it is. Sunday was v good for me, went to car boot picked up several items for DD and a couple of tops for me. Wore my stepper and did over 17K so that was an achievement, have stopped lately and really feeling it. PM went to town and got the camisoles I needed and a present. Have done lots of washing, still need to wash some of the "new" stuff, should be able to do that this eve.
Really must get cleaning, whilst I'm away will have an important family member staying, at moment no room is clear enough for them to get in let alone spend the night. Wish I didn't have to go to work. Must be off, will catch up this eve.

    Morning all

Tata, good luck with the interview! Hope it goes well.

Cat - hope you are feeling OK, take it easy.

Got upset last night as hubby is worried about me. I am not my usual self apparently and he is worried that I am not happy and I am going to get ill again. Feel really confused because I am not sure what I am supposed to do. Yes I would like my life to be different but how?

Meeting up with my sister and her kids later. I wish I could talk to her properly but she lives in such a different world to me that she doesnt understand and tends to say things that make me feel worse. It will be fun spending some time with her though.

Ah well. On the messy front I must do the kitchen floor today and should put something in the slow cooker before I go out. Have a good day everyone x
  • hey Messies, am on the netbook which I bought as an impluse buy and is pants!

YL, do you have time to keep a journal? I know it is hard cos as I am writing this I remember that I haven't kept one since this time last year.....and I could do with doing it. I just think it is helpful to have a track of feelings and thoughts. And maybe that would help if you did that because a) you would get a picture of how you were feeling over a period of time and b) you may be to see patterns or people/experiences that you don't like,

God it is annoying typing on this netbook!!

good luck for the Interview Tata

Messy status - bad, box of doom was moved but not emptied. Mum wants the bathroom painted so I had better prep that, plus we have a leak.....which is bad and scary cos I can't fix it!

I shall go investigate breakfast and then find the sander to do the walls............

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Morning Messies.
Bearcub, I`m so sorry about your cat. I`m sure you are doing the right thing, and it`s nice that the vet is coming to you, but it`s still so sad. I know I`m probably going to have to do this for my old Daftie-dog one of these days, but not yet awhile - she still gets a buzz from stealing the catfood, and that`s always been a good indication about old dogs` quality of life in this household. I`ll be thinking of you.xx
Tatabubbly - good luck with the interview.
Gilly - welcome back, I HATE the washing/clearing up bit after a holiday!
Snookey - I hope your OH feels better soon.Sorry, Ihad to laugh about the mouse!
Parkgirl, welcome to the Messy Legion!
Cat, YL and anyone feeling rough today - ((HUGS))
Sorry if I`ve missed anyone, I`m now clock-watching to get ready for the late shift.
Yesterday`s early went ok, (thanks for the kind words - the patients are still lovely, btw) but there are things I`m still seething about. It would take a whole page, so I won`t bang on. Plus, only one day into the carp, I`ve had a shift changed already. Asking me would be nice!!!
Messy-wise, not too bad, just ticking over basics, DS still away so at least I`m not coming home to a sinkfull... had a bit of rain so haven`t had to water stuff - the lavender bed looks happy enough, and the birdfeeders are all refilled. Got bellypork out of freezer for tonight & will curry leftovers for tomorrow night. That`ll do.
Buffy, I hope your leak isn`t too big & scary after all.
Have a decent day all, whatever you`re up to.xx
Drags self off to get ready for work...

Morning messies - is it still morning? Yes, just! Although by the time I finish this it might not be:p

Parkgirl - welcome! Hopefully today is a better day for you! :) x The story about the loft ladder reminded me of an episode of Frasier, the premise of which was, there ARE no accidents - now, I'm not saying you subconsciously wanted to bop your boss but......:p

jps I have an appetite problem too :( Recommended portions are so tiny!! Even with pasta I can eat 3 times the RP and not feel over-full! It just takes a little time to retrain yourself, the first few days are the hardest eh? I had very good intentions until I read about .......

bearcub's Apple Cider Cake. That sounds gorgeous and I'd love the recipe please!!

(((hugs))) sonastin - I agree with jps about you needing shut-down time - I'm sure it won't last, did you manage to get that glass of wine? That would be a good start! Sometimes it's good to use "me-time" as a reward but I really believe that at other times we need to do the me stuff first.

Right - sorry for long post, I'm trying to work through everybody!

snookey you are nuts but your stories make me laugh!:rotfl: How is your OH today? x Just you and me for the meet so far then! I'd really LOVE to get something organised - I know I keep going on about it but it feels important to me because you lot are the most awesome bunch of people I've ever "met":o

procratinator - 17K??? That's amazing, well done you!:T When do you go on holiday and where? I'm sure you must have told us already but I've a memory like a sieve:o

YL BIG HUGS!! So sorry you're feeling down, Buffy's idea is a good one I think. I guess you have to think about how you want your life to be different, then divide that into things you can and can't change. But don't let it go on too long, see your doctor if you need to, always best to act early. Sounds like it's best not to talk about anything like this to your sister and just keep it light and fun. Hope you can enjoy yourself anyway. You could meet up with me and snookey and talk about anything! I realise with DS it is difficult for you though. How is he now? xx

Buffy you are a proper handywoman!! Hope your leak isn't too bad, they are scary though! They didn't bother me too much when I lived on the ground floor but living above people they send me into a bit of a panic! I think I must have missed the bit about the box of doom, but it sounds less scary than a room (or house!) of doom! x

Finally, Emm (though I bet by the time this is posted there will be someone else to reply to!:rotfl:) Sorry your work is difficult just now. I really don't know how you cope with your shifts, especially when they are sprung on you like that! :( x

I'm ok today, feeling a lot better and with just a glimmer of motivation:j Though all I've done is put a sinkful of dishes in to soak, I'm quite pleased because it's more than I've done since I got out of hospital, and I know I'll get them done this afternoon :)

    hugs all xxx

Grrrrrrr - last night I finally got the motivation to do some laundry just before bedtime... realised that there was some stuff I want to wear on Weds that needed washing so had better get it out on the line today. Set the machine on timer so it would be finished when I woke up this morning (and was woken by the spin cycle long before then!). Got up to realise that I'd poured the laundry liquid into the bubble thing and left it on top of the machine so had to put it on for another wash. Grrrrrrrrrr! As I said, in a complete daze at the moment! Still, the weather here is quite nice atm so as long as it goes on the line as soon as I get home from work it should hopefully dry before bedtime.

:rotfl: I'm also completely unable to ignore it if the cat gets hold of something, even if it's a moth or a spider! Once she stole a goldfish from next door's pond which was still flipping and flapping about.

I tried to grab it thinking I could run next door with it in a plastic bag of water or even - I'm a bit ashamed of this one though - chuck it over the hedge back into next door's pond :o:D but just as I reached her she crunched its head and gave me THAT look. It was a goner but I still couldn't do anything but stand there cringing at her snarfing it down.

I'm up so late today, the day is half gone. It's me hormones, of course - that time of the month. I'm rolling with it, but it's a shame to waste a day because the weather is really nice out there and tomorrow it's forecast to rain - a LOT. Actually, I'm going to see my glass as half full and just enjoy sitting in the garden today, instead of slogging around with the lawnmower and chainsaw!

Too right! I once weighed out a dry pasta "portion" and just stood there staring at it, thinking there wasn't enough to feed a sparrow.

I've lost a few pounds since Thursday though, and I absolutely refuse to see it as beginner's luck or in dieting terms "just water"!! :p

I know I won't keep it up forever but I am *hoping* I can train myself to have good days, and then more good days than bad. The real treat will be to go into shops and know that more than a couple of things will fit me.
I know I`m probably going to have to do this for my old Daftie-dog one of these days, but not yet awhile - she still gets a buzz from stealing the catfood, and that`s always been a good indication about old dogs` quality of life in this household.

Aww Emm that made me smile :) Good luck with the shifts, thank you for being so caring towards your patiends - what would we do without people like you?

Yorkshirelass - lovely that you will enjoy seeing your sis and talking even if you aren't always on the same wavelength. I am like that with my brother - we're so different in our outlook but it's good to just talk to him sometimes.

I am feeling very delicate today so will not be doing a lot. Re. the leak, buffy... my central heating header tank started to drip from the overflow again (it's stopped since I ran the system for half an hour, thankfully) - I can't change the washer myself, I tried once and it was a disaster of biblical proportions and my first thought was not "can't afford the plumber" (true) but "no way is anyone going to see my hall and stairs carpet in that state" :rotfl: It needs washing... it's just horrid. Hope your leak is easy to fix.

I know I've forgotten things I wanted to respond to - please accept apologies for what I've missed and hugs where they're wanted, too.

I'm going to have some breakfast now :o and then make some bread in the BM.
