  • Thank you for your kind words. On that point what is the correct form re the thanks key. I used to thank posts that I liked, that replied to me, that were interesting instead of all and every. However I see some people on the forums get quite upset about this.

Anyway had a good hour at the job in hand.
Have sorted DS packed some of his stuff in a case so he can't wear and hide it in his room before needed. sorted more stuff for him to wear at home and he has agreed to go and buy the few bits he needs in the next couple of days. He's off from uni and hasn't got a job so has the time.
DD not back until tomorrow so she'll have to be done then.
    Me...Have the following that fit
    2 linen trousers
    1 shorts
1 3/4 length trousers just fit (tight round the middle)
4 or 5 tee shirts that I don't like but fit
    3 camie style tops
3 linen long tunic style tops
1 last years swimsuit not yet tried on.
No comfortable shoes/sandals I can walk in
underwear - just about enough but will pick up some new so I don't feel too embarrassed.
    Feel I need more trousers.
Going away for 12 days. Different stops so don't think washing an option. Will be very hot.
Have got factor 50 sun screen and mozzie spray.
    Now to shop.

Well done, procrastinator - that's really impressive. :T

We're grown-ups on here, and have better things to do with our time than to check whether someone has thanked every single post! You thank who you want to thank. X
  • Thank you Bear cub. Doesn't feel impressive but it is a start. Where OH and I will sleep tonight is a puzzle as the bed is now covered in the linen that came out of the case and all my clothes, those that fit as well as those that don't. My plan of action for now is to go to a place 30 mins away that has some good charity shops, see what I can get there and make my way back via town to check out the shops. Friends reported last night that most are stocking winter stuff now. Summer's only just begun for me.

JPS - good luck with the chainsawing, you are very brave, that's one thing that i won't tackle myself!! ;)Jx

Seriously, chainsaws are a doddle. I honestly don't like the way men get to be in charge of power tools all the time and us wimmin are expected to float around in flowery dresses with at the most a pair of secateurs! Actually I'd love to float around in a flowery dress but my style of gardening doesn't suit that :D

Jps, I wouldn't trust myself with a chainsaw. Please take care. I know you don't oike spiders, but is it really fair to throw a chainsaw at them? ;)

I learned to use one when I was 17 working on a nature reserve - best 12 months of my life! I can also lay a hedge, split poles, swing a sledgehammer and sink large fence posts.

Hey... if something scary leaps out at me, whatever is in my hands gets flung, usually with earsplitting screams for good measure. I'm a bit of a jessie in spite of my bushcraft skills :o

I am really inconsistent with the thanks button. I tend to thank everyone on this thread when I remember, but I stopped doing that when I realised that sometimes the thanks didn't show up, so it looked like I'd singled someone out to NOT thank. I've started thanking here again now though because a lot of what is said on this thread keeps me sane :T But then if I miss several days,I don't go back and add thanks all the way, I just start from where I pick up. On other threads I try to remember to thank people that answer my questions or make me laugh or tell me something really useful, or that I didn't know.

Procastinator, I think summer's only just started for most of us! ;)

Snookey, well done on the weight loss. :T And your comment is very kind. Caring I'm willing to admit to; wise? Nah. Too prone to not thinking before answering. :o Re the fur; we have somewhat less now, as our cat is elderly and poorly, and can no longer groom herself. Although we give her the occasional brush, her fur's gone lumpy. :(

Jps, your comment about the floaty dress and gardening, reminds me of the woman who used to be on Gardeners World. I can't think of her name, but she always talked about flowers for cutting, and was always in a dress or skirt. Each to their own, but I can never see how it's possible to really garden in a skirt, and never thought that a skirt and wellies was a good look. Mind you, since I spend most of my life in jeans or jods, I don't have a lot of use for skirts.

    Hi everyone

Oh Laurel you made me laugh, you are not scared of taking on anything are you? After what you managed to achieve in the garden I am sure you will sort it. Between you and JPS I feel very lazy today!

Emm, glad you are feeling good and FW bet its nice for you to have some good weather for a change.

Welcome Procrastinator, we are all believers in baby steps on here and celebrating small achievements. Planning your holiday wardrobe sounds like a good idea - wish I was going on hols!

Hi to everyone else. I must mop the kitchen floor some time this weekend. It is seriously disgusting. We spent ages earlier fitting a baby gate on the stairs so we could be sure that the dog couldnt get to the kids hamsters. Our house is old and all the walls are wonky so it took a long time to get the gate right but I am so pleased its done. The poor hamsters have been a bit neglected since we got the dog so I am going to let them have a run about in the bath while I clean them out later.

We might be really naughty and get fish and chips for tea, havent done that for ages.

    what am I doing?!!!!

:rotfl:That's exactly how I feel when I start decorating or fixing stuff! Sometimes I get so overwhelmed I have to stop and put everything down and hide in a tidy room until I calm down.

Well done for starting laurel, we're all here cheering you on!
