Ooops I'm up late and don't feel very sleepy. That might mean a bit of a blah day tomorrow but hey, I'm on holiday :p

Sounds like a busy time there FW, and congrats to you and MrFarmer!

laurel, try not to feel bad about the garden. You remind me of a great artist, who doubts the beauty of their work of art - gardens are always a work in progress and there's always something that you don't want to take any pictures of! But I bet it looks lovely :D

Morning I haven't done much for the last few days as we've been out and about.

    Today:
    I emptied the kitchen bin
    1 load dw
    BM on
    1 load wm
dw reloaded just enough room for the breakfast dishes
decluttered the fridge, had left over for dinner
washing dried on line, which was surprising as it was raining this morning so it didn't go out until 5.30 when we got back home.
    clean nappies away.

I doubt I'll get much done tomorrow as me and the children are out for most of the day.

Woke up at silly o'clock and couldn't sleep! It was nice to wake up to a dust-free and tidy bedroom though

I will try to put up some shelves today, might not get a lot done but that would feel like a real achievement.

Hope everyone is well and happy today.

Happy birthday to your son wilf.
Its so hot here. Iv been giving the kitchen a spring clean and Im boiling.

Im fed up with the pet fur as its an up hill battle to keep it at bay. Its my own fault though for having so many furry creatures. Love them regardless.

Going to see brother in laws new baby boy on Thursday. He is only 5lb 10, .Mine were 8lb and 9lb9, so its going to be strange holding this tiny tot. Love newborns but Im not broody.

Im finding it hard to sleep at the moment as iv stopped one of my medications. Hoping with stopping this and eating sensibly the weight will drop off.

    Take care everyone.

Happy 16th birthday to Wilf55's DS!

Am going to clean and tidy the kitchen, it pongs horrendously from the broken fridge. Tonight when DH is back we are having a go at cleaning the evaporator tray at the back, I cannot do it alone as it has a really heavy board on top that needs 2 people to lift it, then move the fridge and have a go. Wish me good luck, if we succeed in fixing the fridge it is going to save us a packet and also a lot of trouble.

Even if we got a cheap second hand fridge we would have to go and pick it up, then dispose of this one *groan, moan* and in any case I would much prefer to fix something that is still usable than chuck it and get something else. This fridge is a really good brand and there is nothing the matter with the motor, so it would be great to be able to fix it.

Meanwhile some of the perishables are in the coolbox with an ice block, the remainder is about to be cooked into a chili con carne (minus the carne, vege mince instead), with lots of veg on the side.

    Happy tidying, messies!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Thank you all for your kind words last night they helped :)

Wilf happy birthday to your son. What did you get him? Are you doing anything special?

Happy belated anniversary wishes FW xx

Good luck with your fridge Caterina hope it can be fixed.

Well looks like OH will be moving out to start his job in Reading within the next couple of weeks. I'm gutted I really thought they would offer him one closer. He is itching for me to move with him but it's not the sensible option atm. I'm in a secure job with a good wage and I'm doing well. If I get a job down there it will be a 3-4K a year pay cut for doing the same as I'm doing now with not a lot of security. If I move to another office which is slightly closer to Reading it will still be a 2 hour commute each way & cost me £450!!!!!:mad:

Plus I have my own house with a mortgage and with house prices what they are atm I will make a loss and end up still owing the bank with nothing to show for it!

It's going to be hard work especially as we are about to start married life together (well April) but he can't turn this down he has worked soo hard for it and it is a big step up for him :(

I'll be able to go and stay there but as I don't drive it's going to be a bit of a nightmere at first but with the extra money coming in we can afford for me to have lessons so fingers crossed

So for the long post but just feel a bit lost atm what with one thing and another. Seriously hoping this is the end of my run of bad luck

  • PHEW!! Just spent the day shopping with DD & her 3 eldest. Feel like I`ve had my head in a tumbly-drier (shopping with DD makes my brain go fluffy...)
We did the voucher exchange thing at Mr T`s, where you double the voucher value - got the kids fully kitted out for school including shoes/tights/socks & undies, plus I got a smart tweed jacket (watch us have a heatwave now!!) We`ve got over £200 worth of stuff, and didn`t part with any cash! PLUS I used a double points coupon, AND got a £12 off next £80 shop voucher.
I am now quite tired, dehydrated, but PURRING & GLOATING...
DD is really very chuffed too because she`s only got to get the 3 of them `school logo` jackets (quite dear but good stuff - warm fleece inside & showerproof outside with a little hood tucked away in the collar - this is the only bit that`s compulsory to have school logo on. ) She`d saved up and ordered these already, but was dreading buying all the other stuff. She`s moving house soon, which means new school for the kids & all new kit, plus trying to get stuff for the new house when they move.
I`ve been hoarding my Mr T vouchers (still got loads left) so they`d only have gone out of date soon. Very satisfying day for all!
Will read & catch up in a bit, have just agreed to take DS & DGD to the cinema. OH & I will then have an evening to ourselves...
    Laters...

Well done Emm, that's a brilliant help for your daughter!

Well, I've done nothing productive except a bit of washing, other than that I've farted around all day.

    Hope tomorrow is better!
