Thanks, Emms and jps. I realise it would take a miracle for the bf to mend his ways, after the upbringing he's had. Given the illness that DD's had over the years, she doesn't need it. BUT, I have to say, whatever the outcome, the bf made a huge contribution to her controlling the depression.

Faith, sadly some people tend to believe that stress is, like depression 'all in the mind'. DD1's boss is one of those. <rolls eyes>

Grrr so bloody mad think i'm going to cry

The boss is back today and read the report Bupa gave them following my conversation with them last week and STILL has questions! Just spent 20 mins having to justify everything I do and eat I can't take it! He hasn't even got the balls to ask me himself gets my TL to do it! She came in with a sheet with highlighted points that he wanted clarification on. What part of STRESS related does he not get !!!!!!!

Sorry about your work troubles Faith, it is awful when an insensitive boss makes it worse than it already is. Can you get some support from your HR or Union Rep? Good luck!

He's clearly an idiot, Faith xx

Well, my gravelling is finished. Only took 625kg of gravel (and the back of my thighs feels every one of them :p).

And I did quite a lot of weeding. In danger of getting depressed about the garden. I've worked so hard for so long and it's never in a state I'd like people to see it in.

Bought paint and door handles...could easily get paralysed in the face of all I "have" to do. I don't feel motivated to paint the kitchen when what I really want is a lottery win so I can afford a new one. Better get saving, I guess :rotfl:.

Grrrr very annoyed on your behalf Faith. Nothing like an idiot of a boss for raising the blood pressure, is there?

Laurel, I totally understand that paralysed feeling - that's why my main bedroom is still half painted after two and a half years!

Re. the kitchen, just painting the walls really helps - mine is now gutted, as it had the nastiest cupboards you've ever seen, and needs total rennovation (yeah, like that's ever gonna happen!) but I got the walls painted white last year and it made such a difference.

Hark at me with the bedroom still to finish :o

As long as I feel ok in the morning, it's shelf and painting time in the bedroom... I can feel it in my bones! I might only get a bit done but a bit is a bit better than it was before, right? :)

Faith, can you take a deep breath and turn it right back on the boss? If he's too uncomfortable to talk to you about it directly, make him. Walk into his office (or take him to one side) and say "I understand you have some queries about my illness. How about we have a chat about it so that you can hear it first hand?" If you can bring yourself to talk to him openly, he's more likely to a) see for himself that it really is real and you're not making it up and/or b) drop the 3rd degree because he doesn't like to face the issue head on.

And if that doesn't work, borrow Emm's melon and drop it on his head!

jps-part of my problem is that I bought tiles last year to jazz the kitchen up a bit.

But now I think...I'd love to change the kitchen...I think it's beyond jazzing...I can't re-use the tiles if I change it later because the worktops are below normal height, we're all a bit above average height and are constantly stooping and that's GOT to be fixed if any major work is done. On the other hand, I wouldn't buy a kitchen to match tiles in the garage, and changing the kitchen will probably never happen, so I might as well use 'em...

If I had the time and knew how...:rotfl:

  • Hi all,

    Thanks for the anniversary wishes!!

Soworried - 12 years we've been married and to be honest it's flown in!! :rotfl:

The weather has improved here today, put some washing out this morning and for the 1st time in ages it didn't get rained on!! I met up with my friend and her children for a picnic today so i haven't done much at home. I'll be at home for the rest of the week though, the fields got cut for our 2nd cut of silage today so we'll be busy for the next 2 days getting the grass in. I'm in charge of feeding everybody so i'll be in the kitchen making yummy delights.

    Jx
    It's a farmers life for me......:j
