My home is a mess

Cat- typical that of all the stuff to break it`s one you`d especially wanted to keep, that`s a shame. Hope you`re enjoying the tennis.
Thankfully I`m not in the least tempted by any of the sport, so after scaring everyone off the Messy board I`ve got on with my jobs..
Rugs changed, LR looks quite different already.
Henry burping in the hall after doing hall LR & kitchen floors. (I trod on a small escaped cauli floret - wierd, it was like treading on a snail! yuck!)
Next - next door`s lass is coming round to help me colour my hair, so I won`t look like a badger on my birthday!
Drags self off to get the new pack of Marigolds...0 -

Thanks for the ideas re. the books... they really are going to have to go, but as you say Buffy, it feels so wrong to throw away knowledge, even if it is pre-computer era and too out of date to be useful to anyone.
I like Cat's and Yorkshirelass' advice a lot... you're so wise Cat, I know if I start looking at them that will be it, nothing will get thrown. And I think I will start with a few (maybe a trickle will turn into an avalanche!) as you say Yorkshirelass, half would make a big difference! I'll keep some of the most memorable ones, but I need to be brutal. They're just no use to anyone.
Happy Birthday Caterina!
Glad the bee hotels are doing well Emm - haven't got round to making any yet! The most successful thing this year has been lavender for me, it's covered in bees (when it's not chucking it down) and even a small tortoiseshell butterfly!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

And this when i show how completely nuts I am!
I think what happens if all the electricity goes out! (although quite why I 'd need to know about American politics in some kind of international disaster I don't know!)Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
Caterina well done - enjoy your party xx
Well done Kitty, sounds like a very productive day there!
JPS, you said we must be long-lost sisters...I`ve kept old textbooks and even some old course work, some over 30 years old! As you say, if we don`t get rid of it someone else will have to, someday. I`ll have to give this some thought, too.
Lavender! Bee heaven! Mine is SO feeble! I have 2 big pots of French lavender that I got last year - one is completely dead, the other half-dead/half thriving. This year I got 2 pots of English lavender, and that looks all sad and leggy though it is flowering nicely.
My `raised bed` (not very raised really but a barrier from the surrounding `jungle`) full of marigolds & nasturtiums is lovely though, the Nasturtiums are all climbing up some metal trellis out of 2 corners and it`s a riot of red/yellow/orange.
I`m hoping to gather more seeds and try to get them going mad all over the place eventually! I think I`ll try the same idea with some more lavender, rather than keep it in pots.
Next door has come to do hair. Laters...0 -

aww thanks jps, I just wish I could transfer some of that wisdom to myself more often lol. I DID start off looking at the track listing of some of the CDs, but I was thinking ooh I like that one, and that one, etc etc, and it was no good for me, so straight in the bin they went. I could have saved some for the CS but that would have involved too much thinking about each one
Good luck anyway!
glad you're enjoying the party Caterina!:j thought you would - I can't say I ever really look forward to anything (though I pretend I do), but I usually enjoy whatever it is when it starts
I am having a little party to myself - you know I'm a massive tennis fan and Murray's victory was well worth cracking open a bottle for!! So happy for him!!:j At least it's taken my mind off the glass a bit....but it was all I had left of her that was just mine

I always break the glasses and cups I love most, Cat! Without fail!
Murray's victory was amazing - so pleased for him. Roger was very gracious in defeat, too. And Ben Ainslie! I am celebrating by having a very norty tea... chicken sausages, eggs, new potatoes roasted in olive oil and rosemary and home made toast triangles. I'm drooling just cooking it

I know, that's always the way isn't it
Worse when they're irreplaceable too
Your tea sounds lovely, afraid I can't tear myself away from the telly to cook! So I think we'll have a takeaway, I was supposed to go out last night and didn't feel up to it, so I'm justifying it financially that way!:p0
