Snookey, no problem! I randomly decided to start today after my birthday.. I just got batteries for the weighing scales and I'm around 3 pounds under what I thought I would be! ;)

    Definitely worth it!

The rain here has been on and off all day and my washing isn't dry yet  Really don't want to put this stuff into the tumble dryer!

:A should be clean due to the house being kept clean this week! It's a first!

Welcome back laurel, and happy birthday tata! Took my crumbly old parents out today, Mum had a lovely birthday and she loves the cushions I made for her.

Dri buddy is in action again today, it dried polo and t shirts in about an hour yesterday. Trying a large duvet cover and some knickers today!

Laurel re. those fleas - does frontline not work any more? It's always worked on my cats but very alarming if fleas are getting resistant to it.

I got a spray from the vets once after I'd been away for five weeks and the cats had been staying with my parents - I got home and before I went back out to pick up the cats, my feet were covered in tiny fleas. They are absolutely horrid! They wait till they sense a warm body nearby to hatch, like those pod things in Alien.

Anyhoo, the vet sold me this spray, which was an extortionate price, but boy did it do the job. Can't remember what it was called, sorry.

Edit, sorry the spray was for the house, not for using on the cats. They'd been frontlined before they went to my parents' but clearly eggs were still getting laid in the house

Sprayed the parents' house after the cats came home and fortunately they didn't have any sign of fleas there.

Sorry I've been MIA for a few weeks (I have been lurking which strangely has been motivating for doing something today, as I wanted to post something), not sure why really but I've not been able to get on recently, sometimes not even the basics :o

We had planned to have a family day out today but OH's illness flared up so we stayed at home day instead, the children were very good at occupying each other, OH slept & rested most of the day, I split my day between playing with the children and trying to tackle some of the mess. Today I have:
    Cleaned the shower room
Emptied & washed the kitchen rubbish bin
Emptied & washed the kitchen compost bin
    Emptied the recycling bin
    2 x DW loads
    BM on
    Proper HM dinner
half of dinning room deep cleaned, tided, decluttered, reorganised (including ceiling, skirting boards)
    Clean clothes put away
    Quick tidy of living room
Plan to do some more to the dinning room tomorrow (out for a large part of tomorrow as son is in a theatre production) and finish it off on Sunday.

    Thanks all-[STRIKE]think[/STRIKE] hope we're winning. :o

JPS, I have the super-duper 12-month £15-a-can spray. Unfortunately, I seem to have picked up a cheaper brand I didn't know I had, and that's what I used before we went away. To be honest, I hadn't used the ultra-scary stuff before, as I prefer to use steam, but I was in a hurry before we left and I've really freaked out this time. Neither green nor MSE, when I realised we didn't have the weather for washing duvets and pillows (and didn't fancy using insecticide on them), I black-bagged the lot and bought new ones...

I *really* don't think Frontline is working like it used to... :( I'm giving the cat a lot of suspicious looks, and despite having re-treated her, she's scratching no less. My mum suggested I treat puss with the steam. I think she was joking...

Cat, are you still around? Hugs to you and I hope you are well. x

It is a bit overcast here today, I hope some one else has the sun and it is just being shared not gone.

1st hour, dishes moved from lr in to the kitchen. Recycling done.
2nd hour, fish fed and some coronation chicken made for lunch.
3rd hour, Picnic blanket put away. I just left it in the kitchen last night. :o
4th hour, getting ready and going to try to take the kids to the coast for a couple of hours. Fingers crossed.

  • Well done soworried. In my first hour all I have done is make DH a cup of tea. He was going to a boot fair but has changed his mind now because it is drizzly. I could have stayed in bed!

No wonder my house is a mess I keep coming on here to see how you all are instead of clearing up!

Have a good day soworried and everyone else too.

Least you are up, that is a major step sometimes. My next task is the kettle put on. I just need to find a clean teaspoon. :o
