    Congratulations FW thats great news.

And good news for you too Faith.

Sorry to hear some of you are feeling a bit down. I have been there several times and I know how you feel.

We are at the dentist at 11am and DS1 is refusing to get out of bed. Sigh. Better go and sort him out.

I am going to have to hoover our bedspread when we come back. We have a lovely deep blue throw on our bed which is now covered in white dog hairs that stick to it like glue. We have bought a stairsgate to keep the dog downstairs but hubby hasnt got it put up yet.

Right better go and sort DS out.

Soworried hope your ok sweetie xx

Bearcub & Yorkshirelass thanks :) Yes it does feel good. The person who upset me is away on holiday atm can't wait for him to get back though (only to see the look on his face when he gets told) :rotfl:

I'm working tonight so can't get bedroom started :( So gutted as I'm really excited to get it done.

I have a friend coming over from Canada for my wedding next year in April & I want to have the house ship shape by then. I'm hoping that gives me plenty of time. Fannyadams as you quite rightly said I have to remember that I was ill for 2 1/2 years nearly. One year officially out of it so to speak, the 2nd trying to put me back together again (still not 100% but then I wasn't to start with). This year it's the year to put the house back lol :T

Farmerswife so pleased for you. I couldn't work in a vets I'd be taking every sob story home with me! (That's how I ended up with most of the 7 cats I have now & 1 of the dogs) :o

Buffy me & my mum are FIRM believers in the theory that a messy house is a fun house. My mums house is full of stuff that us kids have given her over the years loads of books, dvd's ect and an army of cuddly toys. However you always feel relaxed and comfy there and I love that. My nan's house (dad side) & aunt (mums sister) have what I call showroom homes. No sentimental items anywhere no "stuff" just the basics and it's so cold. I can't relax for fear of spilling anything, causing a wrinkle in something or an indent in the carpet. My house is like my mums no airs & graces. Just in my house you have to accept the husky fur is actually a condiment lol :)

Morning messies! Soworried, when I feel like that I have a duvet day and I don't fight it (unless it's a working day, in which case I have to just work and defer the duvet day to the weekend). Hope you feel better soon, be good to yourself.

Yorkshirelass, have you got an old picnic rug? I throw one of those over the bed or whatever the cat has taken to sleeping on.

I'm busy today - just saw a bit of blue in the sky so I've thrown some washing out and keeping an eye on that - also need to try to make some cushion covers for my Mum, as they've been promised since Christmas :o

Breakfast first though... nice slow start to the day, I'm taking it easy even if I am busy.

Edit - very pleased about all the good news for FW and faith - well done!

  • Morning all!!

Thanks everyone for your kind wishes, i'm still smiling about the job and it's nice to know that you are all so happy for me!!

Bearcub - I'm going to make time!!! I wasn't looking for a job, but i've always wanted to work at the vets and so i made sure that our vet knew that if there was ever a vacancy i'd be interested!! I probably won't get many hours initially but it may develop into something more. It's just something that i'm doing for myself to get out and about really, plus i'm hoping it will make me more organised round the house (miracles do happen)!! :rotfl:

Soworried - sorry you're feeling low today, i still get like that, you're doing so well with your hourly jobs at the moment, i'm sure missing one day won't matter, plus you probably need to have a rest! Hope you feel better soon & don't beat yourself up about it!!

Hope everyone else is ok, i'm making a batch of bolognaise at the mo, made some flapjack earlier and there's some plums loitering in the fridge that will be made into a crumble for the supper i think.....

    Take care all,

    Jx

    It's a farmers life for me......:j

  • Hi Messies.
I`ve been MIA - back at work last 2 days, plus computer died...
Just read about six pages...Have loan of DS`s laptop - I hate laptops!!
Welcome new messies, and Hi Pollybear if you`re around.
Hugs(()) to all, especially those who are feeling down and struggling. Sorry I can`t do the `2 pages at once` on this thing to respond to posts.
FW - congrats on the job.
I`m posting to say thanks all Messies, for all your posts I`ve read.
    And to have a moan...
My neck is sore again after 2 days back at work. I`ve spent ages today trying to get through to arrange physio appt., constantly engaged....
2 more shifts then I have a week annual leave. Ward is crazily busy so couldn`t take time to do physio call from there. New rota is out, and mine is horrible. Patients are lovely, but every other thought about work is gloomy at the mo. Back in tomorrow, not relishing the prospect.
    House?
It`s wet outside and every foot that enters brings in tiny bits of spent privet blossom. My computer is truly dead and in pieces now, that & cables taking up about a quarter of LR. DS is going to rebuild it - parts arrived today, cardboard packages cluttering sofa now - this will get a lot worse before it gets better! DS promises I`ll eventually have a better, faster & reliable pc, he does know his stuff, but he`s such a messy worker...
Been to farmshop, got a new sack of sunflower seeds for birds too.
Put shopping away, got YS SF chicken breasts out of freezer for tonight (with roast butternut squash, red pepper & cauli.), and sausages for tomorrow night (with farmshop eggs & mushrooms)
One WM load (uniforms mostly) done & hanging around indoors...
Everywhere looks a mess, and it feels pointless trying to do anything about it just yet. OK, Iknow it will keep, I just have to be patient - but I just feel miserable meanwhile! Sorry to go on... especially when others are in the same boat or worse.
Hope at least some of us are having a nice day...xx

Emm I hope your neck is a little better. x

Sorry, I just haven't had the drive to do a thing today or even post but I have been reading. Thankyou all for your support. x

    Tomorrow is another day. :)

My brain has been in that much of a cloud today that I haven't noticed that Cat has not posted.!!
I hope you are well Cat and have sorted out the washing machine issue. x

    Afternoon Messies.

Emms, I'm so sorry that your neck is playing you up again, and that your new rota is so awful. We're going to miss you loads, if they keep you away from us. Please try not to let the 'messy' house get you down. <hugs>

Lovely to see you, Kitty, and even better to hear that things are going well for you.

Farmerswife, you, like my friend who's a farmer's wife and a teacher, amaze me, that you fit so much into each day. :T I've loads of respect for you.

YL, we have blue duvet covers that are always covered in cat's fur. It's become a way of life now. :)

Soworried, I hope you've brightened up a bit now, even if you can't get going. Yes, I'm a little concerned about Cat, too. :(

Well, DD1 has gone home after we all had lunch out together. I left OH at the yard, and came home to clear up. Have stripped covers off duvet and pillow used by DD, folded up duvet, and put it away. Sorted out all the towels that had accumulated, and put one lot in the WM for washing tomorrow. Cleaned bathroom, cleaned hob and adjoining worksurface, and am just about to sweep kitchen floor - which I must wash tomorrow. also sorted some clothes into a charity bag, leaving a little more space in my wardrobe.

hey guys, hugs soworried and bear, just popping on for a moment to say I'm ok, just feeling god awful with this cold, almost cried a few minutes ago my flipping head hurts so much, I'm being an awful baby lol. Emm so sorry you're in pain again :(:( Isis I can't believe the uni is being so horrible  Cancelled washer dryer order and told the delivery people they really shouldn't describe themselves as the "no1 in appliance delivery". Really sorry can't take anything else in, going back to bed, early morning tomorrow worse luck!

hugs to anyone who is unwell/feeling generally carp xxx
