Hope you feel better soon Wilf... I'm sure this weather is making a lot of us a bit low at the moment.

Don't forget to have some "you" time (dawdle over that coffee and have something nice to eat, maybe).

I like the analogy of the invisible window. I always used to say it was like everyone I knew was on a train and I was left at the station. I had a complete breakdown in June 2003 and emerged after 5 weeks in bed with the little flicker of something that life was going to change. I guess that's the old cliche about hitting the bottom or something.

About the room colour thing, I really think environment can have a big impact on how we feel in general whether depression is around or not. Space, light, air and that general feeling that I'm taking care of myself are all an amazing help to me.

Ikwym wilf. I have to say, and I know I sound a bit evangelical at times, but I am almost glad to have been down there and had to sort everything out because I get to see how great things are now and how I can change things in my life to make me happier and have things the way I like. I think sometimes with depression we think that things are out of our control so every time a bit of control is reclaimed - even if it's just doing the washing up or something, then it's a huge positive. Letting go of the past and not beating ourselves up about the could have and should have is huge imo.

It's tough wilf, I pretty much have no memories of that time, I think my brain was protecting me from myself. Thinking back I feel terrible for DH , I remember he took time off work to look after me, but can't remember much else, you're doing a grand job to get through it. It takes time for everyone.

morning messies, (((hugs))) wilf :( I do see what you mean about feeling guilty about me time, I don't know how but I think that's something you have to try and change your way of thinking about. Try and look on it as vital medication, which it is!!

Finding the right meds for depression is an absolute minefield, 12 years and I'm not there yet!:o

Buttercup, WD hasn't been delivered yet and still no word from them at all. The delivery people are contractors obviously but it was bought from Ap*li&nc* Dea*s online!

Plumber has been and is now away to get a part.
Thought he'd just come back but it was the police looking for neighbour's son.

Well done everyone on all your achievements and good luck to everyone with a list of things to do today :) xxx
